2024 McLaren 750S

Safety

Both the 812 and the 750S have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, front and rear parking sensors and available rearview cameras.

The Ferrari 812 weighs 457 to 565 pounds more than the McLaren 750S. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts. Crosswinds also affect lighter cars more.

Warranty

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the 812 for 4 years and unlimited miles longer than McLaren pays for maintenance for the 750S (7/unlimited vs. 3/unlimited).

Engine

The 812’s 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 49 more horsepower (789 vs. 740) than the 750S’ 4.0 turbo V8.

Fuel Economy and Range

The 812 has 5.3 gallons more fuel capacity than the 750S (24.3 vs. 19 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The 812 has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The 750S doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the 812’s front brake rotors are larger than those on the 750S:

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the 812 has larger tires than the 750S (F:275/35R20 & R:315/35R20 vs. F:245/35R19 & R:305/30R20).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the 812 has standard 20-inch wheels. Only 19-inch front wheels are available on the 750S.

Suspension and Handling

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the 812’s wheelbase is 2 inches longer than on the 750S (107.1 inches vs. 105.1 inches).

The 812’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (47% to 53%) than the 750S’ (41.2% to 58.8%). This gives the 812 more stable handling and braking.

Ergonomics

The 812’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The 750S does not have an oil pressure gauge.

To help keep the driver’s hands on the wheel, the 812 has standard steering wheel controls for the radio. The 750S doesn’t offer steering wheel audio controls.
