The Urus’ pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Levante doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

Both the Urus and Levante have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Urus has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The Levante’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Urus has standard Precognition Rear that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Levante doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

An active infrared night vision system optional on the Urus helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera and near-infrared lights to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The Levante doesn’t offer a night vision system.

The Urus’ standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the Levante.

Both the Urus and Levante have rear cross-traffic warning, but the Urus has Automatic Brake Activation (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Levante’s Rear Cross Path doesn’t automatically brake.

The Urus’ driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Levante doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Urus and the Levante have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

The Urus comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Levante’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The Urus’ corrosion warranty is 8 years and unlimited miles longer than the Levante’s (12/unlimited vs. 4/50,000).

Lamborghini pays for scheduled maintenance on the Urus for 5 years and 75000 miles. Lamborghini will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance (up to 5 visits). Maserati doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Levante.

The Urus has more powerful engines than the Levante:

The Urus SE can travel with zero emissions for 37 miles. The Levante can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

Regenerative brakes improve the Urus SE’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Levante doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The Urus has 1.4 gallons more fuel capacity than the Levante (22.5 vs. 21.1 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better stopping power the Urus’ brake rotors are larger than those on the Levante:

The Urus has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Levante doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The Urus stops shorter than the Levante:

For better traction, the Urus has larger standard tires than the Levante (F:285/45R21 & R:315/40R21 vs. 265/45R20). The Urus’ optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Levante (F:285/35R23 & R:325/30R23 vs. F:265/45R20 & R:295/45R20).

The Urus’ standard 315/40R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Levante Modena/S’ standard 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Urus has standard 21-inch wheels. Smaller 20-inch wheels are standard on the Levante Modena/S. The Urus’ optional 23-inch wheels are larger than the 22-inch wheels optional on the Levante.

The Urus has active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The Levante doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The Urus S/SE offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Maserati doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Levante.

For better handling and stability, the average track (width between the wheels) on the Urus is 2.8 inches wider in the front and 1 inch wider in the rear than the average track on the Levante.

The Urus Performante handles at 1.04 G’s, while the Levante Modena pulls only .91 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Urus Performante executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 3.6 seconds quicker than the Levante GT (23.1 seconds @ .87 average G’s vs. 26.7 seconds @ .69 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the Urus’ turning circle is 2.5 feet tighter than the Levante’s (38.7 feet vs. 41.2 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Urus has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Levante (9.8 vs. 9.7 inches), allowing the Urus to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Lamborghini Urus may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 250 pounds less than the Maserati Levante.

As tested by Car and Driver, the interior of the Urus is quieter than the Levante Modena:

The Urus has .7 inches more front headroom, 3.1 inches more front shoulder room, 5.4 inches more rear legroom and .6 inches more rear shoulder room than the Levante.

The Urus has a much larger cargo volume than the Levante with its rear seat up (21.8 vs. 20.5 cubic feet).

The Urus’ standard towing capacity is much higher than the Levante’s (7716 vs. 5952 pounds).

While the Levante Modena S can only tow 3306, any Urus can tow a minimum of 7716 pounds.

The Urus offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed and tachometer readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Levante doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Urus’ rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Levante’s standard intermittent wipers change speed with vehicle speed, but can’t turn on and off or change speed based on changing rainfall.

The Urus’ LED headlights produce a white, bright light using less electricity than the Levante’s standard xenon high intensity discharge (HID) headlights. HID headlights can be slow to reach full brightness or power cycle, causing issues when flashing them to signal other vehicles; LED headlights light instantly. LED lights also last about three to four times as long.

The Urus offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the Levante.

The Urus’ optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Park Assist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Levante doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
