The Urus’ pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

Both the Urus and Stelvio Quadrifoglio have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Urus has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Urus has standard Precognition Rear that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

An active infrared night vision system optional on the Urus helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera and near-infrared lights to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio doesn’t offer a night vision system.

The Urus offers an optional Top View Camera to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the Urus and Stelvio Quadrifoglio have rear cross-traffic warning, but the Urus has Automatic Brake Activation (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio’s Rear Cross-Path Detection doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the Urus and the Stelvio Quadrifoglio have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras and rear cross-path warning.

The Lamborghini Urus weighs 432 to 1215 pounds more than the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

The Urus comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The Urus’ corrosion warranty is 7 years longer than the Stelvio Quadrifoglio’s (12 vs. 5 years).

Lamborghini pays for scheduled maintenance on the Urus for 5 years and 75000 miles. Lamborghini will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance (up to 5 visits). Alfa Romeo doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Stelvio Quadrifoglio.

The Urus’ standard 4.0 turbo V8 produces 152 more horsepower (657 vs. 505) and 184 lbs.-ft. more torque (627 vs. 443) than the Stelvio Quadrifoglio’s 2.9 turbo V6. The Urus SE’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 284 more horsepower (789 vs. 505) and 147 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 443) than the Stelvio Quadrifoglio’s 2.9 turbo V6.

As tested in Motor Trend the Lamborghini Urus turbo V8 is faster than the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio:

In a Car and Driver race course test, the Lamborghini Urus was clocked 9 seconds faster than the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio (175.8 sec. vs. 184.8 sec.).

The Urus SE can travel with zero emissions for 37 miles. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

Regenerative brakes improve the Urus SE’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The Urus has 5.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the Stelvio Quadrifoglio (22.5 vs. 16.9 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better stopping power the Urus’ brake rotors are larger than those on the Stelvio Quadrifoglio:

The Urus has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The Urus stops shorter than the Stelvio Quadrifoglio:

For better traction, the Urus has larger standard tires than the Stelvio Quadrifoglio (F:285/45R21 & R:315/40R21 vs. F:255/45R20 & R:285/40R20). The Urus’ optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Stelvio Quadrifoglio (F:285/35R23 & R:325/30R23 vs. F:255/45R20 & R:285/40R20).

The Urus’ optional 285/35R23 front and 325/30R23 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Stelvio Quadrifoglio’s optional 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Urus has standard 21-inch wheels. Smaller 20-inch wheels are standard on the Stelvio Quadrifoglio. The Urus’ optional 23-inch wheels are larger than the 21-inch wheels optional on the Stelvio Quadrifoglio.

The Urus offers an optional space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the Stelvio Quadrifoglio; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

The Urus has active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The front and rear suspension of the Urus uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Stelvio Quadrifoglio, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Urus S/SE offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Alfa Romeo doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Stelvio Quadrifoglio.

The Urus S/SE has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Urus’ height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Urus S’ wheelbase is 7.3 inches longer than on the Stelvio Quadrifoglio (118.2 inches vs. 110.9 inches).

For better handling and stability, the average track (width between the wheels) on the Urus is 5.7 inches wider in the front and 4.1 inches wider in the rear than the track on the Stelvio Quadrifoglio.

The Urus Performante handles at 1.04 G’s, while the Stelvio Quadrifoglio pulls only .95 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Urus Performante executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1.8 seconds quicker than the Stelvio Quadrifoglio (23.1 seconds @ .87 average G’s vs. 24.9 seconds @ .79 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the Urus’ turning circle is 1 foot tighter than the Stelvio Quadrifoglio’s (38.7 feet vs. 39.7 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Urus has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Stelvio Quadrifoglio (8.4 vs. 7.9 inches), allowing the Urus to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Urus’ minimum ground clearance is 1.9 inches higher than on the Stelvio Quadrifoglio (9.8 vs. 7.9 inches).

As tested by Car and Driver, the interior of the Urus is quieter than the Stelvio Quadrifoglio:

The Urus has .7 inches more front headroom, 5 inches more front legroom, 1.4 inches more front shoulder room, 8.1 inches more rear legroom and .5 inches more rear shoulder room than the Stelvio Quadrifoglio.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Urus’ rear seats recline. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio’s rear seats don’t recline.

The Urus has a much larger cargo volume than the Stelvio Quadrifoglio with its rear seat up (21.8 vs. 18.5 cubic feet).

The Urus has a 7716 lbs. towing capacity. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio has no towing capacity.

Standard on the Urus uses the Electronic Stability Program sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

The Urus’ instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio has neither an oil pressure gauge nor a temperature gauge.

The Urus offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed and tachometer readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Urus’ standard keyless entry system allows you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the vehicle, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Keyless-Enter-n-Go standard on the Stelvio Quadrifoglio doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.

The Urus’ LED headlights produce a white, bright light using less electricity than the Stelvio Quadrifoglio’s xenon high intensity discharge (HID) headlights. HID headlights can be slow to reach full brightness or power cycle, causing issues when flashing them to signal other vehicles; LED headlights light instantly. LED lights also last about three to four times as long.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Urus offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio doesn’t offer headlight washers.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the Urus to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

When the Urus is put in reverse, the passenger rearview mirror tilts from its original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirror into its original position. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio’s mirror doesn’t automatically adjust for backing.

Optional air-conditioned seats in the Urus keep the driver and front passenger comfortable and take the sting out of hot seats in Summer. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats.

The Urus offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the Stelvio Quadrifoglio.

The Urus’ optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Park Assist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
