The Urus’ pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Purosangue doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.
Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Urus has standard Precognition Rear that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Purosangue doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.
An active infrared night vision system optional on the Urus helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera and near-infrared lights to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The Purosangue doesn’t offer a night vision system.
Both the Urus and Purosangue have rear cross-traffic warning, but the Urus has Automatic Brake Activation (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Purosangue’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert doesn’t automatically brake.
Both the Urus and the Purosangue have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.
