The Urus’ driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The SQ7 doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Urus and the SQ7 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, available night vision systems and around view monitors.

The Urus comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The SQ7’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

Lamborghini pays for scheduled maintenance on the Urus for 5 years and 75000 miles. Lamborghini will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance (up to 5 visits). Audi only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the SQ7.

The Urus’ standard 4.0 turbo V8 produces 157 more horsepower (657 vs. 500) and 59 lbs.-ft. more torque (627 vs. 568) than the SQ7’s 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid. The Urus SE’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 289 more horsepower (789 vs. 500) and 22 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 568) than the SQ7’s 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid.

As tested in Motor Trend the Lamborghini Urus turbo V8 is faster than the Audi SQ7:

The Urus SE can travel with zero emissions for 37 miles. The SQ7 can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

For better stopping power the Urus’ brake rotors are larger than those on the SQ7:

The Urus has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The SQ7 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The Urus stops shorter than the SQ7:

For better traction and acceleration, the Urus has larger standard rear tires than the SQ7 (315/40R21 vs. 285/40R21). The Urus’ optional rear tires are larger than the largest rear tires available on the SQ7 (325/30R23 vs. 285/40R21).

The Urus’ optional 325/30R23 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the SQ7’s optional 35 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Urus offers optional 23-inch wheels. The SQ7’s largest wheels are only 22-inches.

The Urus offers an optional space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the SQ7; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

For better handling and stability, the average track (width between the wheels) on the Urus is 1.4 inches wider in the front and 1.9 inches wider in the rear than the track on the SQ7.

The Urus Performante handles at 1.08 G’s, while the SQ7 Premium Plus pulls only .91 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Urus Performante executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.1 seconds quicker than the SQ7 Premium Plus (23.1 seconds @ .87 average G’s vs. 25.2 seconds @ .76 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the Urus’ turning circle is 2.3 feet tighter than the SQ7’s (38.7 feet vs. 41 feet).

The Lamborghini Urus may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 550 pounds less than the Audi SQ7.

The Urus has 1 inch more front headroom, .3 inches more front legroom and 1.2 inches more rear legroom than the SQ7.

The Urus has a much larger cargo volume than the SQ7 with its rear seat up (21.8 vs. 13.6 cubic feet).

Standard on the Urus uses the Electronic Stability Program sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The SQ7 doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

The Urus’ instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The SQ7 does not have an oil pressure gauge.

The SQ7’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The Urus’ standard adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.
