Safety
Warranty
The Urus comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Q8’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.
Lamborghini pays for scheduled maintenance on the Urus for 5 years and 75000 miles. Lamborghini will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance (up to 5 visits). Audi only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Q8.
Engine
The Urus’ standard 4.0 turbo V8 produces 322 more horsepower (657 vs. 335) and 258 lbs.-ft. more torque (627 vs. 369) than the Q8’s 3.0 turbo V6 hybrid. The Urus SE’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 454 more horsepower (789 vs. 335) and 221 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 369) than the Q8’s 3.0 turbo V6 hybrid.
As tested in Motor Trend the Lamborghini Urus turbo V8 is faster than the Audi Q8:

Fuel Economy and Range
The Urus SE can travel with zero emissions for 37 miles. The Q8 can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.
Brakes and Stopping
For better stopping power the Urus’ brake rotors are larger than those on the Q8:

The Urus has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Q8 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.
The Urus stops much shorter than the Q8:

Tires and Wheels
For better traction and acceleration, the Urus has larger standard rear tires than the Q8 (315/40R21 vs. 285/45R21). The Urus’ optional rear tires are larger than the largest rear tires available on the Q8 (325/30R23 vs. 285/45R21).
The Urus’ standard 315/40R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Q8’s standard 45 series tires. The Urus’ optional 285/35R23 front and 325/30R23 rear tires have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile than the Q8’s optional 40 series tires.
For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Urus offers optional 23-inch wheels. The Q8’s largest wheels are only 22-inches.
Suspension and Handling
The Urus has active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The Q8 doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.
The front and rear suspension of the Urus uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Q8, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.
The Urus S/SE offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Audi doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Q8.
The Urus Performante handles at 1.08 G’s, while the Q8 Prestige pulls only .83 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.
The Urus Performante executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 3.8 seconds quicker than the Q8 Prestige (23.1 seconds @ .87 average G’s vs. 26.9 seconds @ .69 average G’s).
For better maneuverability, the Urus’ turning circle is 4.9 feet tighter than the Q8’s (38.7 feet vs. 43.6 feet).
For greater off-road capability the Urus has a 2.6 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Q8 (8.4 vs. 5.8 inches), allowing the Urus to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Urus’ minimum ground clearance is 4 inches higher than on the Q8 (9.8 vs. 5.8 inches).
Chassis
The Lamborghini Urus may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 300 pounds less than the Audi Q8.
Towing
Standard on the Urus uses the Electronic Stability Program sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Q8 doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.
Ergonomics
The Urus’ instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The Q8 does not have an oil pressure gauge.
The Q8’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The Urus’ standard adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.
