To maximize occupant safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Lamborghini Temerario have pretensioners to eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision. The Maserati GranTurismo Folgore doesn’t offer pretensioners.

The Lamborghini Temerario has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The GranTurismo Folgore doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The Temerario’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the GranTurismo Folgore.

The Temerario offers an optional 360 degree parking monitor to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The GranTurismo Folgore only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the Temerario and GranTurismo Folgore offer rear cross-traffic warning, but the Temerario with Rear Cross Traffic Alert also has Rear Cross Traffic Alert (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The GranTurismo Folgore’s Rear Cross Path doesn’t automatically brake.

The Temerario has standard GPS Response System, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The GranTurismo Folgore doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Temerario and the GranTurismo Folgore have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available crash mitigating brakes and blind spot warning systems.

The Temerario comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The GranTurismo Folgore’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The Temerario’s corrosion warranty is 8 years and unlimited miles longer than the GranTurismo Folgore’s (12/unlimited vs. 4/50,000).

Lamborghini pays for scheduled maintenance on the Temerario for 5 years and 75000 miles. Lamborghini will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance (up to 5 visits). Maserati doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the GranTurismo Folgore.

The Temerario’s 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 156 more horsepower (907 vs. 751) than the GranTurismo Folgore’s electric motors.

For better stopping power the Temerario’s brake rotors are larger than those on the GranTurismo Folgore:

The Temerario has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The GranTurismo Folgore doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better traction and acceleration, the Temerario has larger rear tires than the GranTurismo Folgore (325/30R21 vs. 295/30R21).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Temerario is 3 inches wider in the front and .3 inches wider in the rear than on the GranTurismo Folgore.

The Lamborghini Temerario may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1250 pounds less than the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore.

The Temerario is 9.9 inches shorter than the GranTurismo Folgore, making the Temerario easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.
