Safety

The Lamborghini Temerario has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The F-Type doesn’t offer knee airbags.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Temerario. But it costs extra on the F-Type.

The Temerario offers an optional 360 degree parking monitor to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The F-Type only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the Temerario and the F-Type have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, available crash mitigating brakes, blind spot warning systems and rear cross-path warning.

Warranty

The Temerario comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The F-Type’s 60,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The Temerario’s corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the F-Type’s (12 vs. 6 years).

Engine

The Temerario’s 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 463 more horsepower (907 vs. 444) and 162 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 428) than the F-Type P450’s standard 5.0 supercharged V8. The Temerario’s 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 332 more horsepower (907 vs. 575) and 74 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 516) than the F-Type R75’s standard 5.0 supercharged V8.

Fuel Economy and Range

Regenerative brakes improve the Temerario’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The F-Type doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

Transmission

The Temerario offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The F-Type doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the Temerario’s brake rotors are larger than those on the F-Type:

Temerario

F-Type

Front Rotors

16.1 inches

15 inches

Rear Rotors

15.4 inches

14.8 inches

The Temerario has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The F-Type doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

Tires and Wheels

For better traction and acceleration, the Temerario has larger rear tires than the F-Type (325/30R21 vs. 305/30R20).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Temerario has standard 21-inch rear wheels. Only 20-inch wheels are available on the F-Type.

Suspension and Handling

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Temerario’s wheelbase is 1.4 inches longer than on the F-Type (104.6 inches vs. 103.2 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Temerario is 5.4 inches wider in the front and 1.6 inches wider in the rear than on the F-Type.

Ergonomics

The Temerario’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The F-Type does not have an oil pressure gauge.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Temerario offers an optional Adaptive Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The F-Type doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.
