Safety

The Lamborghini Temerario has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The DBS doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

The Temerario offers optional Autonomous Emergency Brake, which use forward mounted sensors to warn the driver of a possible collision ahead. If the driver doesn’t react and the system determines a collision is imminent, it automatically applies the brakes at full-force in order to reduce the force of the crash or avoid it altogether. The DBS doesn't offer collision warning or crash mitigation brakes.

The Temerario has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The DBS doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

The Temerario’s lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane. The DBS doesn’t offer a lane departure warning system.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Temerario’s optional Rear Cross Traffic Alert uses sensors in the rear to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side and automatically engage the brakes. The DBS doesn’t offer a rear cross-path warning system.

The Temerario has standard GPS Response System, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The DBS doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Temerario and the DBS have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available blind spot warning systems and around view monitors.

Warranty

The Temerario’s corrosion warranty is 2 years longer than the DBS’ (12 vs. 10 years).

Lamborghini pays for scheduled maintenance on the Temerario for 5 years and 75000 miles. Lamborghini will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance (up to 5 visits). Aston Martin doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the DBS.

Engine

The Temerario’s 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 192 more horsepower (907 vs. 715) than the DBS’ standard 5.2 turbo V12. The Temerario’s 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 147 more horsepower (907 vs. 760) than the DBS 770 Ultimate Edition’s standard 5.2 turbo V12.

Fuel Economy and Range

Regenerative brakes improve the Temerario’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The DBS doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

Transmission and Drivetrain

The Temerario offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The DBS doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

All wheel drive, available in the Temerario, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Aston Martin DBS is not available with all wheel drive.

The Temerario’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The DBS doesn’t offer launch control.

Tires and Wheels

For better traction and acceleration, the Temerario has larger rear tires than the DBS (325/30R21 vs. 305/30R21).

Suspension and Handling

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Temerario is 2.2 inches wider in the front and .9 inches wider in the rear than on the DBS.

Chassis

The Lamborghini Temerario may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 350 to 550 pounds less than the Aston Martin DBS.

Cargo Capacity

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the Temerario. The DBS doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

Ergonomics

The Temerario’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The DBS does not have an oil pressure gauge.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the Temerario detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The DBS doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Temerario offers an optional Adaptive Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The DBS doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.
