Both the Mustang Mach-E and Optiq have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Mustang Mach-E has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The Optiq’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

The Mustang Mach-E has standard Post Collision Braking, which automatically apply the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Optiq doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Both the Mustang Mach-E and the Optiq have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E (built after August 2024) has achieved the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest rating of “Top Safety Pick Plus” for the 2024 model year. This distinction is based on its exceptional performance in IIHS’ rigorous battery of safety tests. Specifically, it earned a “Good” rating in the latest, more stringent moderate overlap front crash test, a “Good” result in the updated side impact test, and a “Good” score in the revised pedestrian crash prevention test. The Optiq has not yet been evaluated by the IIHS for 2024.

There are over 5 times as many Ford dealers as there are Cadillac dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Mustang Mach-E’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Ford vehicles are better in initial quality than Cadillac vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Ford above average in initial quality. With 35 more problems per 100 vehicles, Cadillac is rated below average.

The Mustang Mach-E’s standard electric motor produces 33 lbs.-ft. more torque (387 vs. 354) than the Optiq’s electric motors. The Mustang Mach-E ER’s standard electric motor produces 33 lbs.-ft. more torque (387 vs. 354) than the Optiq’s electric motors. The Mustang Mach-E eAWD’s standard electric motors produces 25 more horsepower (325 vs. 300) and 146 lbs.-ft. more torque (500 vs. 354) than the Optiq’s electric motors. The Mustang Mach-E ER eAWD’s standard electric motors produces 65 more horsepower (365 vs. 300) and 146 lbs.-ft. more torque (500 vs. 354) than the Optiq’s electric motors. The Mustang Mach-E GT Performance/Rally’s standard electric motors produces 180 more horsepower (480 vs. 300) and 346 lbs.-ft. more torque (700 vs. 354) than the Optiq’s electric motors.

For better stopping power the Mustang Mach-E’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Optiq:

The Mustang Mach-E offers an available driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The Optiq’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Mustang Mach-E’s wheelbase is 1.2 inches longer than on the Optiq (117.5 inches vs. 116.3 inches).

For better maneuverability, the Mustang Mach-E’s turning circle is 1.7 feet tighter than the Optiq’s (38.1 feet vs. 39.8 feet).

The Ford Mustang Mach-E may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 250 to 800 pounds less than the Cadillac Optiq.

The Mustang Mach-E Select/Premium is 4.2 inches shorter than the Optiq, making the Mustang Mach-E easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Mustang Mach-E has 1.7 inches more front legroom, .4 inches more front hip room, .6 inches more front shoulder room, .3 inches more rear legroom and 2.2 inches more rear hip room than the Optiq.

The Mustang Mach-E has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Optiq with its rear seat up (29.7 vs. 26 cubic feet). The Mustang Mach-E has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Optiq with its rear seat folded (59.7 vs. 57 cubic feet).

In case you lock your keys in your vehicle, or don’t have them with you, you can let yourself in using the Mustang Mach-E’s exterior PIN entry system. The Optiq doesn’t offer an exterior PIN entry system, and its OnStar® can’t unlock the doors if the vehicle doesn’t have cell phone reception or the driver can’t contact the service.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Mustang Mach-E has a standard rear wiper. The Optiq doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The Mustang Mach-E is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Optiq doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
