Safety
Warranty
The F-Pace comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Cayenne’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 10,000 miles sooner.
Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the F-Pace for 4 years and 50,000 miles longer than Porsche pays for maintenance for the Cayenne (5/60,000 vs. 1/10,000).
Fuel Economy and Range
On the EPA test cycle the F-Pace gets better mileage than the Cayenne running its gasoline engine:

The F-Pace has 3.5 gallons more fuel capacity than the Cayenne E-Hybrid’s standard fuel tank (21.9 vs. 18.4 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.
Tires and Wheels
Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires available on the F-Pace can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The Cayenne doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.
The F-Pace offers an optional full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the Cayenne; it requires you to depend on a temporary spare, which has mileage and speed limitations, or roadside assistance and a tow-truck.
Suspension and Handling
The F-Pace SVR executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the Cayenne S (25 seconds @ .77 average G’s vs. 25.6 seconds @ .75 average G’s).
For better maneuverability, the F-Pace’s turning circle is .5 feet tighter than the Cayenne’s (39.2 feet vs. 39.7 feet). The F-Pace SVR’s turning circle is .3 feet tighter than the Cayenne’s (39.4 feet vs. 39.7 feet).
For greater off-road capability the F-Pace has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Cayenne E-Hybrid (8.4 vs. 8.2 inches), allowing the F-Pace to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.
Chassis
The Jaguar F-Pace may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 650 to 1150 pounds less than the Porsche Cayenne.
The F-Pace is 7.2 inches shorter than the Cayenne, making the F-Pace easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.
The F-Pace uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Cayenne doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.
Cargo Capacity
The F-Pace has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Cayenne with its rear seat up (32.1 vs. 27.3 cubic feet). The F-Pace has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Cayenne with its rear seat folded (70.4 vs. 60.3 cubic feet).
Pulling a handle automatically lowers the F-Pace’s rear seats, to make changing between passengers and cargo easier. The Cayenne doesn’t offer automatic folding seats.
Payload
The F-Pace has a higher standard payload capacity than the Cayenne (1510 vs. 1415 lbs.).
Ergonomics
The F-Pace has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Cayenne doesn’t offer a remote starting system.
If the windows are left open on the F-Pace the driver can close them all at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows at the outside door handle or from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the Cayenne can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.
To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the F-Pace has a standard rear fixed intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the Cayenne only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.
Economic Advantages
Insurance will cost less for the F-Pace owner. The Complete Car Cost Guide estimates that insurance for the F-Pace will cost $370 less than the Cayenne over a five-year period.
Recommendations
J.D. Power and Associates rated the F-Pace second among compact premium suvs in owner reported satisfaction. This includes how well the vehicle performs and satisfies its owner’s expectations. The Cayenne isn’t in the top three in its category.
