The Range Rover Evoque’s standard easy entry system raises the steering wheel, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. An easy entry system costs extra on the Escape FHEV.
The Range Rover Evoque’s front and rear power windows all open or close fully with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside the car. The Escape FHEV’s standard power window switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully. Only its driver’s window opens automatically.
If the windows are left open on the Range Rover Evoque the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the Escape FHEV can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.
The Range Rover Evoque’s standard Passive Keyless Entry allows you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Intelligent Access standard on the Escape FHEV doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.
The Range Rover Evoque’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Escape FHEV’s standard intermittent wipers change speed with vehicle speed, but can’t turn on and off or change speed based on changing rainfall.
Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the Range Rover Evoque to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Escape FHEV doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.
In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Range Rover Evoque offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Escape FHEV doesn’t offer headlight washers.
The Range Rover Evoque’s standard outside mirrors include heating elements to clear off the mirrors for better visibility. Ford charges extra for heated mirrors on the Escape FHEV.
When the Range Rover Evoque is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions. The Escape FHEV’s mirrors don’t automatically adjust for backing.
The Range Rover Evoque’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Escape FHEV offers an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.
Both the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque and Ford Escape FHEV offer exterior mirrors that can be folded to provide convenience. The Range Rover Evoque features standard power folding mirrors, which allow for easy, one-touch folding or unfolding at the driver’s discretion. This provides added convenience when maneuvering or parking, as well as when walking past the parked vehicle. In comparison, the Escape FHEV’s foldable mirrors are manual, requiring the driver to get out and physically fold them once parked and unfold them before getting in.
The Range Rover Evoque has standard heated front seats. Heated front seats cost extra on the Escape FHEV. The Range Rover Evoque also offers optional heated rear seats to keep those passengers extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated rear seats aren’t available in the Escape FHEV.
The Range Rover Evoque has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the Escape FHEV.
The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the rear view mirror. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. Ford charges extra for Homelink® on the Escape FHEV and is only available on the Escape FHEV Elite/Platinum.
To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the Escape FHEV.
