The Range Rover’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The QX80 doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

Both the Range Rover and QX80 have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Range Rover has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The QX80’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Range Rover. But it costs extra on the QX80.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the Range Rover’s standard Hill Descent Control allows you to creep down safely. The QX80 doesn’t offer Hill Descent Control.

Both the Range Rover and QX80 have rear cross-traffic warning, but the Range Rover has Rear Traffic Braking (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The QX80’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert doesn’t automatically brake.

For better protection of the passenger compartment, the Range Rover uses safety cell construction with a three-dimensional high-strength frame that surrounds the passenger compartment. It provides extra impact protection and a sturdy mounting location for door hardware and side impact beams. The QX80 uses a body-on-frame design, which has no frame members above the floor of the vehicle.

Both the Range Rover and the QX80 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the Range Rover third among large premium suvs in their 2024 Initial Quality Study. The QX80 isn’t in the top three in its category.

The Range Rover P530’s standard 4.4 turbo V8 produces 73 more horsepower (523 vs. 450) and 37 lbs.-ft. more torque (553 vs. 516) than the QX80’s 3.5 turbo V6. The Range Rover P550e’s standard 3.0 turbo/supercharged 6-cylinder hybrid produces 93 more horsepower (543 vs. 450) than the QX80’s 3.5 turbo V6. The Range Rover SV’s standard 4.4 turbo V8 produces 156 more horsepower (606 vs. 450) and 37 lbs.-ft. more torque (553 vs. 516) than the QX80’s 3.5 turbo V6.

The Range Rover P550e can travel with zero emissions for 53 miles. The QX80 can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

Regenerative brakes improve the Range Rover’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The QX80 doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The Range Rover P440e has a standard locking fuel door with a power remote release convenient to the driver. The fuel filler door is not lockable on the QX80. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank.

The Range Rover’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The QX80 doesn’t offer launch control.

The Range Rover’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 50 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the QX80’s standard 60 series tires. The Range Rover’s optional tires have a lower 40 series profile than the QX80 Luxe/Sensory/Autograph’s 50 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Range Rover has standard 21-inch wheels. Smaller 20-inch wheels are standard on the QX80. The Range Rover’s optional 23-inch wheels are larger than the 22-inch wheels on the QX80 Luxe/Sensory/Autograph.

The Range Rover offers an optional full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the QX80; it requires you to depend on a temporary spare, which limits mileage and speed before replacement.

The Range Rover offers active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The QX80 doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The front and rear suspension of the Range Rover uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the QX80 Pure, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Range Rover offers an available active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Infiniti doesn’t offer an active suspension on the QX80.

The Range Rover’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The QX80 doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

For better maneuverability, the Range Rover SWB’s turning circle is 4.1 feet tighter than the QX80’s (35.9 feet vs. 40 feet). The Range Rover LWB’s turning circle is 2.1 feet tighter than the QX80’s (37.9 feet vs. 40 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Range Rover has a 2 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the QX80 Pure (11.6 vs. 9.6 inches), allowing the Range Rover to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Range Rover’s minimum ground clearance is 1.6 inches higher than on the QX80 Luxe/Sensory/Autograph (11.6 vs. 10 inches).

The Land Rover Range Rover may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 50 to 700 pounds less than the Infiniti QX80.

The Range Rover SWB is 1 foot shorter than the QX80, making the Range Rover easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Unibody construction lowers the Range Rover’s center of gravity significantly without reducing ground clearance. This contributes to better on the road handling and better off-road performance and stability. In addition, unibody construction makes the chassis stiffer, improving handling and reducing squeaks and rattles. The QX80 doesn’t use unibody construction, but a body-on-frame design.

Flexibility is maximized at the game, campground or a drive-in theatre in the Range Rover when its optional tailgating rear seats are deployed, allowing people to sit facing out of the tailgate. (Do not use while vehicle is in motion.) The QX80 doesn’t offer tailgating seats.

The Range Rover’s rear cargo window opens separately from the rest of the tailgate door to allow quicker loading of small packages. The QX80’s rear cargo window doesn’t open.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the Range Rover to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The QX80 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Range Rover has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The QX80 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the Range Rover offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The QX80 doesn’t offer cornering lights.

To better shield the driver’s vision, the Range Rover has a standard driver’s side dual-element sun visor that can block glare from two directions simultaneously (Range Rover also offers optional passenger side dual sun visors). The QX80 doesn’t offer a secondary sun visor.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the Range Rover to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The QX80 doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

The Range Rover’s Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The QX80 doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
