For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Ford Maverick are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The INEOS Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Maverick are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The Maverick has standard Post Collision Braking, which automatically apply the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Maverick Lariat/Tremor has standard Reverse Brake Assist that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

The Maverick (except XL/XLT) offers an optional 360-Degree Camera to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The Grenadier Quartermaster only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

The Maverick’s optional blind spot warning system uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer a system to reveal objects in the driver’s blind spots.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Maverick’s optional Cross-Traffic Alert uses sensors in the rear to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer a rear cross-path warning system.

For better protection of the passenger compartment, the Maverick uses safety cell construction with a three-dimensional high-strength frame that surrounds the passenger compartment. It provides extra impact protection and a sturdy mounting location for door hardware and side impact beams. The Grenadier Quartermaster uses a body-on-frame design, which has no frame members above the floor of the vehicle.

Both the Maverick and the Grenadier Quartermaster have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, available all wheel drive and driver alert monitors.

The Maverick has a standard “limp home system” to keep drivers from being stranded if most or all of the engine’s coolant is lost. The engine will run on only half of its cylinders at a time, reduce its power and light a warning lamp on the dashboard so the driver can get to a service station for repairs. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer a lost coolant limp home mode, so a coolant leak could strand you or seriously damage the truck’s engine.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the Maverick second among midsize pickups in their 2024 Initial Quality Study. The Grenadier Quartermaster isn’t in the top three in its category.

Regenerative brakes improve the Maverick Hybrid’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Ford Maverick uses regular unleaded gasoline (premium recommended for maximum performance). The Grenadier Quartermaster requires premium, which can cost on average about 84.9 cents more per gallon.

The Maverick has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system or a tether to prevent losing the cap.

The Maverick has a standard continuously variable transmission (CVT). With no “steps” between gears, it can keep the engine at the most efficient speed for fuel economy, or keep it at its peak horsepower indefinitely for maximum acceleration. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer a CVT.

The Maverick’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 65 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Grenadier Quartermaster’s standard 70 series tires. The Maverick’s optional tires have a lower 55 series profile than the Grenadier Quartermaster’s 70 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Maverick offers optional 19-inch wheels. The Grenadier Quartermaster’s largest wheels are only 18-inches.

The Ford Maverick’s independent front suspension is much lighter than the INEOS Grenadier Quartermaster’s solid front axle, which allows the Maverick’s wheels to react more quickly and accurately to the road’s surface, improving both ride and handling.

For superior ride and handling, the Ford Maverick has fully independent front and semi-independent rear suspensions. An independent suspension allows the wheels to follow the road at the best angle for gripping the pavement, without compromising ride comfort. The INEOS Grenadier Quartermaster has a solid rear axle, with a non-independent rear suspension.

For much better steering response and tighter handling the Maverick has rack and pinion steering, like Formula racecars, instead of the recirculating-ball type steering of the Grenadier Quartermaster.

The Ford Maverick may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 2100 to 2250 pounds less than the INEOS Grenadier Quartermaster.

The Maverick is 1 foot shorter than the Grenadier Quartermaster, making the Maverick easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Grenadier Quartermaster’s spare tire is stored in the cargo area, where it diminishes the useable cargo capacity and interferes with loading and unloading. The Maverick’s spare is out of the way underneath.

A low lift-over bed design makes loading and unloading the Maverick easier. The Maverick’s bed lift-over height is 30.4 inches, while the Grenadier Quartermaster’s liftover is 35.6 inches.

The Maverick offers a remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The engine computer on the Maverick automatically engages the starter until the car starts with one twist of the key and disables the starter while the engine is running. The Grenadier Quartermaster’s starter can be accidentally engaged while the engine is running, making a grinding noise and possibly damaging the starter and ring gear.

The Maverick’s power parking brake sets with one touch and releases with one touch or automatically. The Grenadier Quartermaster has a lever-type parking brake that has to be strenuously raised to engage properly. It has to be lifted up more and a button depressed to release it.

The Maverick’s standard power windows have a locking feature to keep children in the rear seat from operating them, but the driver can still raise and lower all of them with the lock engaged. INEOS does not offer a locking feature on the Grenadier Quartermaster’s standard power windows.

The Maverick Lariat/Tremor’s front and rear power windows all open or close with one touch of the switches. The Grenadier Quartermaster’s power window switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully.

In case you lock your keys in your vehicle, or don’t have them with you, you can let yourself in using the Maverick’s available exterior PIN entry system. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer an exterior PIN entry system.

Intelligent Access standard on the Maverick XLT/Lariat/Lobo/Tremor allows you to unlock the doors from either front door handle and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. The INEOS Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer an advanced key system.

The Maverick’s speed-sensitive wipers speed up when the vehicle does, so that the driver doesn’t have to continually adjust the speed of the wipers. The Grenadier Quartermaster’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the Maverick detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Maverick has standard extendable sun visors. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer extendable visors.

On extremely cold winter days, the Maverick’s optional (except XL/XLT) heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the vehicle heater warms up. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.

The Maverick XLT/Lariat/Lobo/Tremor has a standard center folding armrest for the rear passengers. A center armrest helps make rear passengers more comfortable and it can provide a boundary between children. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer a rear seat center armrest.

The Maverick (except XL/XLT)’s optional dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer dual zone air conditioning.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Maverick (except XL/XLT) offers an optional Adaptive Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Ford Maverick (except XL/XLT) offers an optional wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the front center console. The Grenadier Quartermaster doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
