The GV80 Coupe doesn’t offer a system that can receive automated systems from other vehicles.

Compared to metal, the GLE Coupe’s plastic fuel tank can withstand harder, more intrusive impacts without leaking; this decreases the possibility of fire. The Genesis GV80 Coupe has a metal gas tank.

Both the GLE Coupe and the GV80 Coupe have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available lane departure warning systems.

There are over 59 percent more Mercedes dealers than there are Genesis dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the GLE Coupe’s warranty.

On the EPA test cycle the GLE Coupe gets better mileage than the GV80 Coupe:

Regenerative brakes improve the GLE Coupe’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The GV80 Coupe doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The GLE Coupe has 1.4 gallons more fuel capacity than the GV80 Coupe (22.5 vs. 21.1 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

A nine-speed automatic is standard on the Mercedes GLE Coupe, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the GV80 Coupe.

For better traction, the GLE Coupe has larger standard tires than the GV80 Coupe (275/50R20 vs. 265/50R20). The GLE Coupe’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the GV80 Coupe (F:285/40R22 & R:325/35R22 vs. 265/50R20).

The GLE Coupe’s optional 325/35R22 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the GV80 Coupe’s optional 40 series tires.

The GLE Coupe has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the GV80 Coupe; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

The GLE Coupe has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The GLE Coupe’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The GV80 Coupe doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the GLE Coupe is .2 inches wider in the front and 1.5 inches wider in the rear than on the GV80 Coupe.

The GLE Coupe has .3 inches more front headroom, 4.1 inches more front hip room, .2 inches more rear headroom, 3.8 inches more rear hip room and .7 inches more rear shoulder room than the GV80 Coupe.

The GLE Coupe has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the GV80 Coupe with its rear seat up (31.6 vs. 29.3 cubic feet). The GLE Coupe has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the GV80 Coupe with its rear seat folded (64.1 vs. 61.1 cubic feet).

The GLE Coupe’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the GV80 Coupe’s (7700 vs. 6000 pounds).

Optional Trailer Stability Assist on the GLE Coupe uses the Electronic Stability Program sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The GV80 Coupe doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

The GLE Coupe’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The GV80 Coupe does not have an oil pressure gauge.

If the windows are left open on the GLE Coupe the driver can close them all at the outside door handle or from a distance using the remote (remote must be aimed at door sensor). On a hot day the driver can lower the windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the GV80 Coupe can’t use the remote to operate the windows.

Heated windshield washer fluid is optional on the GLE Coupe to defrost the washer nozzles and quickly clear ice and frost from the windshield without scraping. The GV80 Coupe doesn’t offer heated windshield washer fluid.

To better shield the driver and front passenger’s vision, the GLE Coupe has standard dual-element sun visors that can block glare from two directions simultaneously. The GV80 Coupe doesn’t offer secondary sun visors.
