In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the EX30 are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Mirai doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The EX30 has a standard front seat center airbag, which deploys between the driver and front passenger, protecting them from injuries caused by striking each other in serious side impacts. The Mirai doesn’t offer front seat center airbags.

The EX30 comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Mirai’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 14,000 miles sooner.

The EX30’s corrosion warranty is 7 years longer than the Mirai’s (12 vs. 5 years).

The EX30’s standard electric motor produces 86 more horsepower (268 vs. 182) and 32 lbs.-ft. more torque (253 vs. 221) than the Mirai’s electric motor. The EX30’s standard electric motors produces 240 more horsepower (422 vs. 182) and 179 lbs.-ft. more torque (400 vs. 221) than the Mirai’s electric motor.

The EX30’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield.
