Compare the2025 Genesis Electrified GV70VS 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S

The Electrified GV70’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Wagoneer S doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

Both the Electrified GV70 and Wagoneer S have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Electrified GV70 has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The Wagoneer S’ child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

The Electrified GV70 has a standard front seat center airbag, which deploys between the driver and front passenger, protecting them from injuries caused by striking each other in serious side impacts. The Wagoneer S doesn’t offer front seat center airbags.

Using vehicle speed sensors and seat sensors, smart airbags in the Electrified GV70 deploy with different levels of force or don’t deploy at all to help better protect passengers of all sizes in different collisions. The Electrified GV70’s side airbags will shut off if a child is leaning against the door. The Wagoneer S’ side airbags don’t have smart features and will always deploy full force.

The Electrified GV70 has standard Anti-whiplash Front Head Restraints, which use a specially designed headrest to protect the driver and front passenger from whiplash. During a rear-end collision, the Anti-whiplash Front Head Restraints system moves the headrests forward to prevent neck and spine injuries. The Wagoneer S doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

Full-time four-wheel drive is standard on the Electrified GV70. Full-time four-wheel drive gives added traction for safety in all conditions, not just off-road, like the only system available on the Wagoneer S.

Both the Electrified GV70 and Wagoneer S have rear cross-traffic warning, but the Electrified GV70 has Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Wagoneer S’ Rear Cross Path Detection doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the Electrified GV70 and the Wagoneer S have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The Genesis Electrified GV70 (built after April 2024) has achieved the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest rating of “Top Safety Pick Plus” for the 2024 model year. This distinction is based on its exceptional performance in IIHS’ rigorous battery of safety tests. Specifically, it earned a “Good” rating in the latest, more stringent moderate overlap front crash test, a “Good” result in the updated side impact test, and an “Acceptable” score in the revised pedestrian crash prevention test. The Wagoneer S has not yet been evaluated by the IIHS for 2024.

The Electrified GV70 comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Wagoneer S’ 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 2 years or 24,000 miles sooner.

Genesis’ powertrain warranty covers the Electrified GV70 5 years and 40,000 miles longer than Jeep covers the Wagoneer S. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the Wagoneer S ends after only 5 years or 60,000 miles.

The Electrified GV70’s corrosion warranty is 2 years longer than the Wagoneer S’ (7 vs. 5 years).

Genesis pays for scheduled maintenance on the Electrified GV70 for 1 year longer than Jeep pays for maintenance for the Wagoneer S (3 years vs. 2 years).

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Genesis vehicles are better in initial quality than Jeep vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Genesis above average in initial quality. With 16 more problems per 100 vehicles, Jeep is rated below average.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Genesis vehicles are more reliable than Jeep vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Genesis 8 places higher in reliability than Jeep.

The Electrified GV70 has a standard locking charge port which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The Wagoneer S doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

For better stopping power the Electrified GV70’s front brake rotors are larger than those on the Wagoneer S:

For better traction, the Electrified GV70 has larger tires than the Wagoneer S (265/45R20 vs. 235/50R20).

The Electrified GV70’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Wagoneer S’ standard 50 series tires.

The Electrified GV70 has a standard driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The Wagoneer S’ suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

For better maneuverability, the Electrified GV70’s turning circle is 2.2 feet tighter than the Wagoneer S’ (37.8 feet vs. 40 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Electrified GV70 has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Wagoneer S (6.9 vs. 6.4 inches), allowing the Electrified GV70 to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Genesis Electrified GV70 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 750 pounds less than the Jeep Wagoneer S.

The Electrified GV70 is 6.8 inches shorter than the Wagoneer S, making the Electrified GV70 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Electrified GV70 Prestige uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Wagoneer S doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The Electrified GV70 has 3.3 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Wagoneer S (102.8 vs. 99.5).

The Electrified GV70 has .6 inches more front headroom, .7 inches more front hip room, 1.7 inches more front shoulder room and .9 inches more rear headroom than the Wagoneer S.

The Electrified GV70’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Wagoneer S’ (3500 vs. 3400 pounds).

A maintenance reminder system is standard on the Electrified GV70 to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals based on odometer mileage. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Jeep doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Wagoneer S.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the Electrified GV70 to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The Wagoneer S doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

The Electrified GV70’s Smart Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Smart Parking Assist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Wagoneer S’ automatic parking system does not offer parking by remote control.
