For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Audi RS Q8 are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Land Rover Range Rover doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

The RS Q8 has a standard Secondary Collision Brake Assist, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Range Rover doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The RS Q8 has standard Maneuver Braking that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. Both the RS Q8 and the Range Rover have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

The RS Q8’s corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the Range Rover’s (12 vs. 6 years).

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the RS Q8’s fuel efficiency. The Range Rover doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

The RS Q8 has 3.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the Range Rover 550e PHEV’s standard fuel tank (22.5 vs. 18.9 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better stopping power the RS Q8’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Range Rover:

The RS Q8 has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Range Rover doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better traction, the RS Q8 has larger tires than the Range Rover (295/40R22 vs. 275/50R21). The RS Q8’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Range Rover (295/40R22 vs. 285/40R23).

The RS Q8’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Range Rover’s standard 50 series tires. To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the RS Q8 has standard extendable sun visors. The Range Rover doesn’t offer extendable visors.

A manual rear sunshade is standard in the RS Q8 and power rear side window sunshades are optional to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The Range Rover doesn’t offer a rear sunshade.

The RS Q8’s optional Park Assist Plus can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Park Assist Plus will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Range Rover’s automatic parking system does not offer parking by remote control.

The RS Q8 will cost the buyer less in the long run because of its superior resale value. The IntelliChoice estimates that the RS Q8 will retain 52.34% of its original price after five years, while the Range Rover only retains 42.66% to 48.18%.
