For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Audi Q3 are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

The Audi Q3 has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

The Q3 has a standard Secondary Collision Brake Assist, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Both the Q3 and the Range Rover Evoque have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

The Q3’s corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the Range Rover Evoque’s (12 vs. 6 years).

There are over 50 percent more Audi dealers than there are Land Rover dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Q3’s warranty.

The Audi Q3’s engines use a cast iron block for durability, while the Range Rover Evoque’s engine uses an aluminum block. Aluminum engine blocks are much more prone to warp and crack at high temperatures than cast iron.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the Q3’s reliability 23 points higher than the Range Rover Evoque.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the Q3 second among small premium suvs in their 2024 Initial Quality Study. The Range Rover Evoque isn’t in the top three in its category.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Audi Q3 uses regular unleaded gasoline (premium recommended for maximum performance). The Range Rover Evoque requires premium, which can cost on average about 84.9 cents more per gallon.

The Q3 has a standard locking fuel door which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The fuel filler door is not lockable on the Range Rover Evoque. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank.

The Q3’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs on the Range Rover Evoque are solid, not vented.

For better traction, the Q3’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Range Rover Evoque (255/45R19 vs. 245/45R21).

The Q3’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 55 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Range Rover Evoque’s standard 60 series tires. The Q3’s optional tires have a lower 40 series profile than the Range Rover Evoque’s optional 45 series tires.

The Q3 handles at .79 G’s, while the Range Rover Evoque pulls only .77 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Q3 is 5.8 inches narrower than the Range Rover Evoque, making the Q3 easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.

The Q3 has .7 inches more front headroom, .1 inches more front shoulder room and 2.1 inches more rear legroom than the Range Rover Evoque.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Q3’s rear seats recline. The Range Rover Evoque’s rear seats don’t recline.

The front step up height for the Q3 is 1.2 inches lower than the Range Rover Evoque (17.5” vs. 18.7”). The Q3’s rear step up height is .5 inches lower than the Range Rover Evoque’s (18” vs. 18.5”).

The Q3 has a much larger cargo volume than the Range Rover Evoque with its rear seat up (23.7 vs. 21.6 cubic feet).

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Q3 to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. Heated windshield washer nozzles cost extra on the Range Rover Evoque.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the Q3 Premium Plus has standard cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer cornering lights.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Q3 has standard extendable sun visors. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer extendable visors.

Insurance will cost less for the Q3 owner. The Complete Car Cost Guide estimates that insurance for the Q3 will cost $1400 to $3320 less than the Range Rover Evoque over a five-year period.

The Q3 will cost the buyer less in the long run because of its superior resale value. The IntelliChoice estimates that the Q3 will retain 56.3% to 56.96% of its original price after five years, while the Range Rover Evoque only retains 50.91% to 52.06%.

According to The Car Book by Jack Gillis, the Q3 is less expensive to operate than the Range Rover Evoque because typical repairs cost much less on the Q3 than the Range Rover Evoque, including $350 less for a muffler, $102 less for front brake pads, $121 less for fuel injection and $389 less for a fuel pump.

Consumer Reports® recommends the Audi Q3, based on reliability, safety and performance. The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque isn't recommended.
