For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Jeep Wagoneer S are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Jaguar I-Pace doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Wagoneer S are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The I-Pace doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The Jeep Wagoneer S has a standard driver’s side knee airbag mounted low on the dashboard. The knee airbag helps prevent the driver from sliding under the seatbelts or the main frontal airbag; this keeps the driver better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. A knee airbag also helps keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The I-Pace doesn’t offer knee airbags.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Wagoneer S has standard ParkSense Rear Park Assist with Stop that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The I-Pace doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

The Wagoneer S has a standard 360-degree camera to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The I-Pace only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the Wagoneer S and the I-Pace have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available four-wheel drive.

The Jeep Wagoneer S weighs 941 pounds more than the Jaguar I-Pace. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

The Wagoneer S has .4 inches more front legroom, 3 inches more rear legroom and 3 inches more rear shoulder room than the I-Pace.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Wagoneer S’ rear seats recline. The I-Pace’s rear seats don’t recline.

The Wagoneer S 4dr Sport Utility has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the I-Pace with its rear seat up (30.6 vs. 25.3 cubic feet). The Wagoneer S 4dr Sport Utility has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the I-Pace with its rear seat folded (61 vs. 53.6 cubic feet).

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Wagoneer S has a standard rear wiper. The I-Pace doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the Wagoneer S has standard cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The I-Pace doesn’t offer cornering lights.

Standard air conditioned seats in the front and rear seats keep the Wagoneer S’ passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The I-Pace doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

The Wagoneer S has standard massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the I-Pace.

The Wagoneer S has a 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The I-Pace doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

The Wagoneer S’ Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The I-Pace’s automatic parking system requires operating the brakes and transmission to safely park.
