Compare the2024 Jeep Wagoneer SVS 2024 Honda Prologue

To allow off-road and deep snow capability, Four-Wheel Drive is standard on the Wagoneer S. But it costs extra on the Prologue.

The Wagoneer S’ driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Prologue doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Wagoneer S and the Prologue have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rear parking sensors and rear cross-path warning.

The Jeep Wagoneer S weighs 452 to 793 pounds more than the Honda Prologue. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

There are over 2 times as many Jeep dealers as there are Honda dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Wagoneer S’ warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Jeep vehicles are more reliable than Honda With 16 fewer problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, J.D. Power ranks Jeep higher than Honda.

The Wagoneer S’ electric motors produces 388 more horsepower (600 vs. 212) and 381 lbs.-ft. more torque (617 vs. 236) than the Prologue’s standard electric motor. The Wagoneer S’ electric motors produces 312 more horsepower (600 vs. 288) and 284 lbs.-ft. more torque (617 vs. 333) than the Prologue’s optional electric motors.

The Wagoneer S can travel longer on a full charge than the Prologue on a full charge:

Regenerative brakes improve the Wagoneer S’ fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Prologue doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

For better stopping power the Wagoneer S’ brake rotors are larger than those on the Prologue:

The Wagoneer S’ standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs on the Prologue are solid, not vented.

The Wagoneer S’ tires provide better handling because they have a lower 50 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Prologue’s standard 60 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Wagoneer S has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the Prologue.

The Wagoneer S has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Prologue doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

The front grille of the Wagoneer S uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Prologue doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The Wagoneer S 4dr Sport Utility has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Prologue with its rear seat up (30.6 vs. 25.2 cubic feet). The Wagoneer S 4dr Sport Utility has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Prologue with its rear seat folded (61 vs. 57.7 cubic feet).

The Wagoneer S’ standard towing capacity is much higher than the Prologue’s (3400 vs. 1500 pounds).

Standard Trailer Sway Control on the Wagoneer S uses the Electronic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Prologue doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

Unlike the driver-only memory seat in the Prologue Touring/Elite, the Wagoneer S has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position, outside mirror angle and radio stations and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Wagoneer S’ rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Prologue’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Wagoneer S to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Prologue doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

The Wagoneer S’ standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Prologue offers an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

The Jeep Wagoneer S has power folding mirrors that offer unparalleled convenience while maneuvering in tight places or parked. With the mirrors folded it’s easier to walk past and help prevent parking damage. The mirrors can be quickly unfolded when the driver is ready to leave. Power folding mirrors are not standard on all versions of the Prologue.

Both the Wagoneer S and the Prologue have standard heated front seats. The Wagoneer S also has standard heated rear seats to keep those passengers extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated rear seats aren’t available in the Prologue.

Standard air conditioned seats in the front and rear seats keep the Wagoneer S’ passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The Prologue doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

The Wagoneer S has standard massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the Prologue.

The Wagoneer S’ Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The Prologue doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
