Compare the2025 Chevrolet Blazer EVVS 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E

The Chevrolet Blazer EV has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Mustang Mach-E doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

The Blazer EV’s standard pretensioning seatbelts also sense rear collisions and remove slack from the seatbelts to help protect the occupants from whiplash and other injuries. The Mustang Mach-E doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, Full-Time Four-Wheel Drive is standard on the Blazer EV. But it costs extra on the Mustang Mach-E.

Both the Blazer EV and the Mustang Mach-E have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning, available front parking sensors and driver alert monitors.

The Blazer EV’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the Mustang Mach-E’s (6 vs. 5 years).

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Chevrolet vehicles are better in initial quality than Ford vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Chevrolet second in initial quality, above the industry average. With 19 more problems per 100 vehicles, Ford is ranked 9th.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the statistics that show that Chevrolet vehicles are more reliable than Ford vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Chevrolet fourth in reliability, above the industry average. With 65 more problems per 100 vehicles, Ford is ranked 23rd.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Chevrolet vehicles are more reliable than Ford vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Chevrolet 2 places higher in reliability than Ford.

The Blazer EV’s electric motors produces 24 more horsepower (288 vs. 264) than the Mustang Mach-E’s standard electric motor.

For better traction, the Blazer EV has larger standard tires than the Mustang Mach-E (255/60R19 vs. 225/55R19). The Blazer EV RS’ tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Mustang Mach-E (275/45R21 vs. 245/45R20).

The Blazer EV’s optional tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Mustang Mach-E GT’s 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Blazer EV offers optional 22-inch wheels. The Mustang Mach-E’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.

The Chevrolet Blazer EV’s wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Ford Mustang Mach-E only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.

The Blazer EV has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Mustang Mach-E doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires available on the Blazer EV can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The Mustang Mach-E doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Blazer EV’s wheelbase is 4.3 inches longer than on the Mustang Mach-E (121.8 inches vs. 117.5 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Blazer EV is 2.4 inches wider in the front and 2.5 inches wider in the rear than on the Mustang Mach-E.

The Blazer EV RS handles at .80 G’s, while the Mustang Mach-E pulls only .77 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Blazer EV RS executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the Mustang Mach-E (27.4 seconds @ .63 average G’s vs. 28 seconds @ .62 average G’s).

For greater off-road capability the Blazer EV has a 2.1 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Mustang Mach-E (7.9 vs. 5.8 inches), allowing the Blazer EV to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Blazer EV has 2 inches more front headroom, .9 inches more front legroom, 2 inches more front hip room, 1.1 inches more front shoulder room, .8 inches more rear legroom, .6 inches more rear hip room and 2.4 inches more rear shoulder room than the Mustang Mach-E.

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the Blazer EV’s liftgate can be opened just by waiting momentarily behind the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Mustang Mach-E doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its liftgate, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

The Blazer EV has a 1500 lbs. towing capacity. The Mustang Mach-E has no towing capacity.

Standard Trailer Sway Control on the Blazer EV uses the StabiliTrak® sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Mustang Mach-E doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

The Blazer EV RS offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed, navigation instruction and driver assistance information readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Mustang Mach-E doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Blazer EV’s standard Keyless Access allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, unlock the cargo door, and start the vehicle, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Intelligent Access standard on the Mustang Mach-E doesn’t offer a sensor on the cargo door. Intelligent Access is not available on the Mustang Mach-E Premium/GT.

When the Blazer EV RS is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions. The Mustang Mach-E’s mirrors don’t automatically adjust for backing.

The Blazer EV’s optional rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Mustang Mach-E has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

Both the Blazer EV and the Mustang Mach-E offer optional heated front seats. The Blazer EV RS also offers optional heated rear seats to keep those passengers extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated rear seats aren’t available in the Mustang Mach-E.

Standard air-conditioned seats in the Blazer EV RS keep the driver and front passenger comfortable and take the sting out of hot seats in Summer. The Mustang Mach-E doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats.

Motor Trend performed a comparison test in its December 2023 issue and they ranked the Chevrolet Blazer EV RS first. They ranked the Ford Mustang Mach-E 4 third.

Motor Trend selected the Blazer EV as their 2024 Sport Utility of the Year. The Mustang Mach-E has never been chosen.

The Chevrolet Blazer outsold the Ford Mustang Mach-E by 61% during 2023.
