Compare the2025 Cadillac OptiqVS 2025 Genesis Electrified GV70

The Cadillac Optiq has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

Both the Optiq and the Electrified GV70 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, front seat center airbag, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

There are over 2 times as many Cadillac dealers as there are Genesis dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Optiq’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Cadillac vehicles are more reliable than Genesis With 4 fewer problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, J.D. Power ranks Cadillac higher than Genesis.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Cadillac vehicles are more reliable than Genesis vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Cadillac 2 places higher in reliability than Genesis.

The Optiq can travel longer on a full charge than the Electrified GV70 (300 miles vs. 236 miles).

For better traction, the Optiq’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Electrified GV70 (275/40R21 vs. 265/45R20).

The Optiq’s optional tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Electrified GV70’s 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Optiq offers optional 21-inch wheels. The Electrified GV70’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.

The Cadillac Optiq’s wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Genesis Electrified GV70 only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires available on the Optiq can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

The Optiq has variable-assist power steering, for low-effort parking, better control at highway speeds and during hard cornering, and a better feel of the road. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer variable-assist power steering.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Optiq’s wheelbase is 3.1 inches longer than on the Electrified GV70 (116.3 inches vs. 113.2 inches).

The front grille of the Optiq uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The Optiq has 1 inch more front headroom, .3 inches more front legroom, .4 inches more rear headroom and 1.2 inches more rear legroom than the Electrified GV70.

The Optiq has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Electrified GV70 with its rear seat folded (57 vs. 56.5 cubic feet).

Standard Trailer Sway Control on the Optiq uses the StabiliTrak® sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Cadillac service is better than Genesis. J.D. Power ranks Cadillac fifth in service department satisfaction. With a 71% lower rating, Genesis is ranked 31st.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Electrified GV70, the Optiq offers an optional passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

If the windows are left open on the Optiq the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the Electrified GV70 can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The Optiq’s standard Keyless Access allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the vehicle, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Proximity Key standard on the Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the Optiq offers optional cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer cornering lights.

The Optiq has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel is only available on the Electrified GV70 Prestige.
