The ID.BUZZ’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Lyriq doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

Earlier warning of stopped traffic, traffic signals, dangerous road conditions, weather, or accidents, can keep driver's safer and prevent crashes. The ID.BUZZ has Car2X, a system that seamlessly communicates important warnings to the driver about impending danger, if they're available. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a system that can receive automated systems

Both the ID.BUZZ and the Lyriq have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

Warranty

The ID.BUZZ’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the Lyriq’s (7/100,000 vs. 6/100,000).

Volkswagen pays for scheduled maintenance on the ID.BUZZ for 2 years and 20,000 miles. Volkswagen will pay for brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Cadillac only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Lyriq.

There are over 14 percent more Volkswagen dealers than there are Cadillac dealers, which makes it easier should you ever need service under the ID.BUZZ’s warranty.

Engine

The ID.BUZZ’s standard electric motor produces 88 lbs.-ft. more torque (413 vs. 325) than the Lyriq’s standard electric motor. The ID.BUZZ’s optional electric motors produces 62 lbs.-ft. more torque (512 vs. 450) than the Lyriq’s optional electric motors.

Fuel Economy and Range

The ID.BUZZ has a standard locking charge port which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The Lyriq doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the ID.BUZZ’s front brake rotors are larger than those on the Lyriq:

Tires and Wheels

The ID.BUZZ’s 265/45R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Lyriq’s standard 50 series tires.

Suspension and Handling

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the ID.BUZZ’s wheelbase is 5.7 inches longer than on the Lyriq (127.5 inches vs. 121.8 inches).

For better maneuverability, the ID.BUZZ’s turning circle is 2.3 feet tighter than the Lyriq’s (37.4 feet vs. 39.7 feet).

Passenger Space

The ID.BUZZ has standard seating for 7 passengers; the Lyriq can only carry 5.

The ID.BUZZ has 55 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Lyriq (160.1 vs. 105.1).

Towing

The ID.BUZZ’s minimum standard towing capacity is much higher than the Lyriq’s (2600 vs. 0 pounds).

Ergonomics

The ID.BUZZ Pro S Plus has a standard heads-up display that projects speed in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The ID.BUZZ’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Lyriq’s standard intermittent wipers change speed with vehicle speed, but can’t turn on and off or change speed based on changing rainfall.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the ID.BUZZ to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Lyriq doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the ID.BUZZ has a standard rear wiper. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the ID.BUZZ to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The Lyriq doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

The ID.BUZZ has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel is only available on the Lyriq Luxury/Sport.
