The Vantage’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the 911.

The Vantage has a standard blind spot warning system that uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. A system to reveal vehicles in the 911’s blind spot costs extra.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Vantage has standard Rear Cross Traffic Assist and automatically engage the brakes. Porsche charges extra for Rear Cross Traffic Alert on the 911.

The Vantage’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The 911 doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Vantage and the 911 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

The Vantage comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The 911’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The Vantage’s 4.0 turbo V8 produces 277 more horsepower (656 vs. 379) and 259 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 331) than the 911’s standard 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder. The Vantage’s 4.0 turbo V8 produces 213 more horsepower (656 vs. 443) and 200 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 390) than the 911 S’ standard 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder. The Vantage’s 4.0 turbo V8 produces 183 more horsepower (656 vs. 473) and 170 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 420) than the 911 GTS/Dakar’s standard 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder. The Vantage’s 4.0 turbo V8 produces 16 more horsepower (656 vs. 640) than the 911 Turbo S’ standard 3.7 turbo 6-cylinder.

The Vantage has 2.4 gallons more fuel capacity than the 911’s standard fuel tank (19.3 vs. 16.9 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Aston Martin Vantage higher (5 out of 10) than the Porsche 911 (3 to 5). This means the Vantage produces up to 16.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the 911 every 15,000 miles.

For better traction, the Vantage has larger tires than the 911 (F:275/35R21 & R:325/30R21 vs. F:235/40R19 & R:295/35R20).

The Vantage’s 275/35R21 front and 325/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the 911 Dakar’s standard 45 series front and 40 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Vantage has standard 21-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels are standard on the 911. The 911’s largest wheels are only 20-inches in the front and 21-inches in the rear.

The Vantage has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the 911; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Vantage’s wheelbase is 10 inches longer than on the 911 (106.5 inches vs. 96.5 inches).

The Vantage’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (50% to 50%) than the 911’s (39.5% to 60.5%). This gives the Vantage more stable handling and braking.

The Vantage has a much larger trunk than the 911 Coupe with its rear seat up (8.3 vs. 4.6 cubic feet).

Unlike the driver-only memory system optional at extra cost in the 911, the Vantage has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Vantage’s standard easy entry system raises the steering wheel and glides the driver’s seat back, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. An easy entry system costs extra on the 911.

If the windows are left open on the Vantage the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the 911 can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The Vantage has standard Keyless Entry that allows you to unlock the doors from either outside door handle, open the trunk, and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. The 911 GT3 doesn’t offer Comfort Access.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Vantage has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The 911 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Aston Martin Vantage has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) for the front seat. The 911 doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
