The Vantage has standard head airbag curtains which act as a forgiving barrier between the driver and outboard passenger's upper bodies and the window and pillars. Combined with high-strength steel door beams and lower side airbags this system increases head protection in broadside collisions. The Roma doesn't offer side airbag protection for the head.

The Vantage has standard Automatic Emergency Braking, which use forward mounted sensors to warn the driver of a possible collision ahead. If the driver doesn’t react and the system determines a collision is imminent, it automatically applies the brakes at full-force in order to reduce the force of the crash or avoid it altogether. The Roma doesn't offer collision warning or crash mitigation brakes.

The Vantage’s lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. The Roma doesn’t offer a lane departure warning system.

The Vantage has a standard 3D Surround View System to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The Roma only offers front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

The Vantage’s blind spot warning system uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. The Roma doesn’t offer a system to reveal objects in the driver’s blind spots.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Vantage’s standard Rear Cross Traffic Assist uses sensors in the rear to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side and automatically engage the brakes. The Roma doesn’t offer a rear cross-path warning system.

The Vantage’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Roma doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Vantage and the Roma have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding and front and rear parking sensors.

The Vantage’s corrosion warranty is 7 years longer than the Roma’s (10 vs. 3 years).

The Vantage’s 4.0 turbo V8 produces 44 more horsepower (656 vs. 612) and 29 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 561) than the Roma’s 3.9 turbo V8.

The Vantage’s 325/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Roma’s standard 35 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Vantage has standard 21-inch wheels. Only 20-inch wheels are available on the Roma.

The Vantage has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the Roma; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Vantage’s wheelbase is 1.4 inches longer than on the Roma (106.5 inches vs. 105.1 inches).

The Vantage is 6.4 inches shorter than the Roma, making the Vantage easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

For excellent aerodynamics, the Vantage has standard flush composite headlights. The Roma has recessed headlights that spoil its aerodynamic shape and create extra drag.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Roma, the Vantage has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Vantage’s standard power window controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Roma’s available power window controls are spread out on the center console where they can’t be seen without the driver completely removing his eyes from the road.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Vantage has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Roma doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The Vantage’s power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Roma’s power mirror controls are on the dash where they are possibly hidden by the steering wheel and are awkward to manipulate.

On extremely cold winter days, the Vantage’s optional heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the car heater warms up. The Roma doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Aston Martin Vantage has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) for the front seat. The Roma doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.

The Vantage’s Active Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The Roma doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
