The Vantage has standard Automatic Emergency Braking, which use forward mounted sensors to warn the driver of a possible collision ahead. If the driver doesn’t react and the system determines a collision is imminent, it automatically applies the brakes at full-force in order to reduce the force of the crash or avoid it altogether. The Artura doesn't offer collision warning or crash mitigation brakes.

The Vantage’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the Artura.

The Vantage’s blind spot warning system uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. The Artura doesn’t offer a system to reveal objects in the driver’s blind spots.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Vantage’s standard Rear Cross Traffic Assist uses sensors in the rear to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side and automatically engage the brakes. The Artura doesn’t offer a rear cross-path warning system.

The Vantage’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Artura doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Vantage and the Artura have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

Reliability

The Artura’s redline is at 8500 RPM, which causes more engine wear, and a greater chance of a catastrophic engine failure. The Vantage has a 7000 RPM redline.

Engine

The Vantage’s 4.0 turbo V8 produces 59 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 531) than the Artura’s 3.0 turbo V6 hybrid.

Fuel Economy and Range

The Vantage has 2.2 gallons more fuel capacity than the Artura (19.3 vs. 17.1 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the Vantage’s front brake rotors are larger than those on the Artura:

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Vantage has larger tires than the Artura (F:275/35R21 & R:325/30R21 vs. F:235/35R19 & R:295/35R20).

The Vantage’s 325/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Artura’s standard 35 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Vantage has standard 21-inch wheels. Only 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels are available on the Artura.

The Vantage has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the Artura; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

Suspension and Handling

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Vantage’s wheelbase is 2.6 inches longer than on the Artura (106.5 inches vs. 103.9 inches).

The Vantage’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (50% to 50%) than the Artura’s (41.9% to 58.1%). This gives the Vantage more stable handling and braking.

Cargo Capacity

The Vantage has a much larger trunk than the Artura Coupe (8.3 vs. 5.3 cubic feet).

Ergonomics

Unlike the driver-only memory system optional at extra cost in the Artura, the Vantage has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Vantage’s standard easy entry system raises the steering wheel and glides the driver’s seat back, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. An easy entry system costs extra on the Artura.

If the windows are left open on the Vantage the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the Artura can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The Vantage’s standard Keyless Entry allow you to unlock the doors from either outside door handle, open the trunk, and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Keyless Entry and Lock standard on the Artura doesn’t offer a sensor on the trunk.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Vantage has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Artura doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The Vantage’s power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Artura’s power mirror controls are on the dash where they are possibly hidden by the steering wheel and are awkward to manipulate.

Optional air-conditioned seats in the Vantage keep the driver and front passenger comfortable and take the sting out of hot seats in Summer. The Artura doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats.

On extremely cold winter days, the Vantage’s optional heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the car heater warms up. The Artura doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.

To help keep the driver’s hands on the wheel, the Vantage has standard steering wheel controls for the radio. The Artura doesn’t offer steering wheel audio controls.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Aston Martin Vantage has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) for the front seat. The Artura doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.

The Vantage’s Active Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The Artura doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
