The Vantage has a standard 3D Surround View System to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The Corvette only offers a rear monitor and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the front or sides.

The Vantage has a standard blind spot warning system that uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. A system to reveal vehicles in the Corvette’s blind spot costs extra.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Vantage has standard Rear Cross Traffic Assist and automatically engage the brakes. Chevrolet charges extra for Rear Cross Traffic Alert on the Corvette and the Corvette’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert does not include automatic braking.

The Vantage’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Corvette doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Vantage and the Corvette have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems and rearview cameras.

The Vantage comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Corvette’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The Vantage’s corrosion warranty is 4 years and unlimited miles longer than the Corvette’s (10/unlimited vs. 6/100,000).

For smoother operation, better efficiency and fewer moving parts, the Vantage has an overhead cam design, rather than the old pushrod design of some of the engines in the Corvette.

The Vantage’s 4.0 turbo V8 produces 166 more horsepower (656 vs. 490) and 125 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 465) than the Corvette’s standard 6.2 V8. The Vantage’s 4.0 turbo V8 produces 161 more horsepower (656 vs. 495) and 120 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 470) than the Corvette Z51’s standard 6.2 V8. The Vantage’s 4.0 turbo V8 produces 1 more horsepower (656 vs. 655) than the Corvette E-Ray’s standard 6.2 V8 hybrid.

On the EPA test cycle the Vantage gets better mileage than the Corvette:

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Aston Martin Vantage higher (5 out of 10) than the Chevrolet Corvette (3 to 5). This means the Vantage produces up to 16.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Corvette every 15,000 miles.

For better traction, the Vantage has larger tires than the Corvette (F:275/35R21 & R:325/30R21 vs. F:245/35R19 & R:305/30R20).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Vantage has standard 21-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels are standard on the Corvette. The Corvette’s largest wheels are only 20-inches in the front and 21-inches in the rear.

The Vantage has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the Corvette; it requires you to depend on its run-flat tires, which limits mileage and speed before they are repaired. If a run-flat is damaged beyond repair by a road hazard your vehicle will have to be towed.

The Vantage’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (50% to 50%) than the Corvette’s (41.6% to 58.4%). This gives the Vantage more stable handling and braking.

The Vantage is 5.4 inches shorter than the Corvette, making the Vantage easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Vantage’s standard easy entry system raises the steering wheel and glides the driver’s seat back, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. An easy entry system costs extra on the Corvette.

If the windows are left open on the Vantage the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the Corvette can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The Vantage’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Corvette’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Vantage has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Corvette doesn’t offer headlight washers.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Vantage has a standard Adaptive Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The Corvette doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Aston Martin Vantage has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) for the front seat. Wireless charging costs extra on the Corvette.

The Vantage’s Active Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The Corvette doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
