The Cadillac Escalade IQ has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Hummer EV SUV doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The Escalade IQ has standard head airbag curtains for all three seat rows which act as a forgiving barrier between the driver and outboard passenger's upper bodies and the window and pillars. Combined with high-strength steel door beams and lower side airbags this system increases head protection in broadside collisions. The Hummer EV SUV doesn't offer side airbag protection for the head and are only available for the front seats.

The Escalade IQ has a standard front seat center airbag, which deploys between the driver and front passenger, protecting them from injuries caused by striking each other in serious side impacts. The Hummer EV SUV doesn’t offer front seat center airbags.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the Escalade IQ helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The Hummer EV SUV doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the Escalade IQ and Hummer EV SUV have Rear Cross Traffic Alert, but the Escalade IQ has Rear Cross Traffic Braking (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Hummer EV SUV’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the Escalade IQ and the Hummer EV SUV have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The Escalade IQ comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck. The Hummer EV SUV’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 14,000 miles sooner.

Cadillac’s powertrain warranty covers the Escalade IQ 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than GMC covers the Hummer EV SUV. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the Hummer EV SUV ends after only 5 years or 60,000 miles.

The Escalade IQ’s 6 year corrosion warranty has no mileage limitations, but the corrosion warranty on the Hummer EV SUV runs out after 100,000 miles.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Cadillac vehicles are more reliable than GMC With 10 fewer problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, J.D. Power ranks Cadillac higher than GMC.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Cadillac vehicles are more reliable than GMC vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Cadillac 8 places higher in reliability than GMC.

The Escalade IQ’s electric motors produces 125 more horsepower (750 vs. 625) than the Hummer EV SUV’s standard electric motors.

The Escalade IQ’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 50 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Hummer EV SUV’s 70 series tires. The Escalade IQ’s tires are lower profile than the Hummer EV SUV’s 55 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Escalade IQ has standard 24-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the Hummer EV SUV. The Hummer EV SUV’s largest wheels are only 22-inches.

The Escalade IQ has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Hummer EV SUV doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

The front and rear suspension of the Escalade IQ uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Hummer EV SUV, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the Escalade IQ’s cargo door can be opened just by waiting momentarily behind the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Hummer EV SUV doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its cargo door, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

The Escalade IQ’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Hummer EV SUV’s (8000 vs. 6000 pounds).

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Cadillac service is better than GMC. J.D. Power ranks Cadillac fifth in service department satisfaction. With a 31% lower rating, GMC is ranked 20th.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Hummer EV SUV, the Escalade IQ offers an optional passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Escalade IQ has a standard heads-up display that projects speed, navigation instruction, infotainment and driver assistance information readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Hummer EV SUV doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Escalade IQ’s front and rear power windows all open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Hummer EV SUV’s power windows’ switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully.

If the windows are left open on the Escalade IQ the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the Hummer EV SUV can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Escalade IQ has a standard rear wiper. The Hummer EV SUV doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The Escalade IQ’s Adaptive Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Auto Parking will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Hummer EV SUV’s automatic parking system does not offer parking by remote control.
