2025 Buick Enclave
2024 Lexus TX

Safety

The Enclave has a standard front seat center airbag, which deploys between the driver and front passenger, protecting them from injuries caused by striking each other in serious side impacts. The TX doesn’t offer front seat center airbags.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Enclave has standard Rear Cross Traffic Alert with Rear Cross Traffic Braking, systems which detect vehicles approaching from the sides and can automatically apply the brakes to prevent a collision. Only the TX Premium/Luxury offers Parking Support Brake.

Both the Enclave and the TX have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, front wheel drive, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, available all wheel drive, front parking sensors and driver alert monitors.

Warranty

There are over 4 times as many Buick dealers as there are Lexus dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Enclave’s warranty.

Reliability

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Buick vehicles are better in initial quality than Lexus vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Buick above average in initial quality. With 10 more problems per 100 vehicles, Lexus is rated lower.

Engine

The Enclave’s 2.5 turbo 4-cylinder produces 53 more horsepower (328 vs. 275) and 9 lbs.-ft. more torque (326 vs. 317) than the TX 350’s standard 2.4 turbo 4-cylinder.

Fuel Economy and Range

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Buick Enclave uses regular unleaded gasoline. The TX requires premium, which can cost on average about 84.9 cents more per gallon.

The Enclave FWD’s standard fuel tank has 4.9 gallons more fuel capacity than the TX 550h+’s standard fuel tank (19.4 vs. 14.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups. The Enclave FWD’s standard fuel tank has 2.3 gallons more fuel capacity than the TX 500h’s standard fuel tank (19.4 vs. 17.1 gallons). The Enclave AWD’s standard fuel tank has 3.9 gallons more fuel capacity than the TX 350’s standard fuel tank (21.7 vs. 17.8 gallons).

The Enclave has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The TX doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Enclave’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the TX (275/45R22 vs. 255/55R20).

The Buick Enclave’s wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Lexus TX only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.

Suspension and Handling

The Enclave offers an available driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The TX’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Enclave’s wheelbase is 4.8 inches longer than on the TX (120.9 inches vs. 116.1 inches).

Chassis

The front grille of the Enclave uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The TX doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

Passenger Space

The Enclave has 1.2 inches more front headroom, 2.7 inches more front legroom, 2.2 inches more front hip room, 2.2 inches more front shoulder room, 2 inches more rear legroom, 1.7 inches more rear hip room, 3.1 inches more rear shoulder room, 1.1 inches more third row headroom, 2.8 inches more third row hip room and .4 inches more third row shoulder room than the TX.

Cargo Capacity

The Enclave’s cargo area provides more volume than the TX.
