Safety
Warranty
There are over 4 times as many Buick dealers as there are Genesis dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Enclave’s warranty.
Reliability
To reliably power the ignition and other systems and to recharge the battery, the Enclave has a standard 220-amp alternator. The GV80’s standard 150-amp alternator and largest (3.5T) 180-amp alternator aren’t as powerful.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Buick Enclave uses regular unleaded gasoline. The GV80 2.5T requires premium, which can cost on average about 84.9 cents more per gallon.
The Enclave has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The GV80 doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.
Tires and Wheels
For better traction, the Enclave’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the GV80 (275/45R22 vs. 265/40R22).
For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Enclave has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the GV80.
The Buick Enclave’s wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Genesis GV80 only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.
Suspension and Handling
For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Enclave’s wheelbase is 4.6 inches longer than on the GV80 (120.9 inches vs. 116.3 inches).
For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Enclave is 1.4 inches wider in the front and .6 inches wider in the rear than on the GV80.
Passenger Space
The Enclave has 2.4 inches more front headroom, 2.7 inches more front legroom, 2 inches more front shoulder room, 1.6 inches more rear headroom, 2.8 inches more rear legroom, 3.9 inches more rear shoulder room, 4 inches more third row headroom, 1.8 inches more third row legroom and 4.6 inches more third row shoulder room than the GV80.

Towing
Standard Trailer Sway Control on the Enclave uses the StabiliTrak® sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The GV80 doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.
Servicing Ease
J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Buick service is better than Genesis. J.D. Power ranks Buick third in service department satisfaction. With a 75% lower rating, Genesis is ranked 31st.
Ergonomics
The Enclave’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The GV80 does not have an oil pressure gauge.
On a hot day the Enclave’s driver can lower all the windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the GV80 can’t use the remote to operate the windows.
The Enclave’s standard Keyless Access allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Proximity Key standard on the GV80 doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.
To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the Enclave Avenir has standard cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The GV80 doesn’t offer cornering lights.
Model Availability
The Enclave is available in both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The GV80 doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
Recommendations
The Buick Enclave outsold the Genesis GV80 by over two to one during 2023.
