For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Genesis GV80 Coupe are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Jaguar E-Pace doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the GV80 Coupe are reminded to check the back seat when a sensor determines the back seat is occupied. The E-Pace doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The Genesis GV80 Coupe has a standard driver’s side knee airbag mounted low on the dashboard. The knee airbag helps prevent the driver from sliding under the seatbelts or the main frontal airbag; this keeps the driver better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. The GV80 Coupe has a standard front seat center airbag, which deploys between the driver and front passenger, protecting them from injuries caused by striking each other in serious side impacts. The E-Pace doesn’t offer front seat center airbags.

The GV80 Coupe has a standard Multi-Collision Brake, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The E-Pace doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The GV80 Coupe has standard Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist-Reverse that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The E-Pace doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

Both the GV80 Coupe and the E-Pace have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

Genesis’ powertrain warranty covers the GV80 Coupe 5 years and 40,000 miles longer than Jaguar covers the E-Pace. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the E-Pace ends after only 5 years or 60,000 miles.

The GV80 Coupe’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the E-Pace’s (7 vs. 6 years).

There are over 65 percent more Genesis dealers than there are Jaguar dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the GV80 Coupe’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Genesis vehicles are better in initial quality than Jaguar vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Genesis above average in initial quality. With 4 more problems per 100 vehicles, Jaguar is rated lower.

The GV80 3.5T Coupe’s standard 3.5 turbo V6 produces 129 more horsepower (375 vs. 246) and 122 lbs.-ft. more torque (391 vs. 269) than the E-Pace’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder. The GV80 3.5 e-Supercharger’s standard 3.5 turbo/supercharged V6 hybrid produces 163 more horsepower (409 vs. 246) and 136 lbs.-ft. more torque (405 vs. 269) than the E-Pace’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Genesis GV80 Coupe uses regular unleaded gasoline (premium recommended for maximum performance). The E-Pace requires premium, which can cost on average about 82.8 cents more per gallon.
