Safety
Warranty
Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the Daytona SP3 for 2 years and unlimited miles longer than Lamborghini pays for maintenance for the Huracán (7/unlimited vs. 5/75000).
Engine
The Daytona SP3’s 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 227 more horsepower (829 vs. 602) and 101 lbs.-ft. more torque (514 vs. 413) than the Huracán Sterrato’s standard 5.2 DOHC V10. The Daytona SP3’s 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 199 more horsepower (829 vs. 630) and 71 lbs.-ft. more torque (514 vs. 443) than the Huracán Evo’s optional 5.2 DOHC V10. The Daytona SP3’s 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 198 more horsepower (829 vs. 631) and 97 lbs.-ft. more torque (514 vs. 417) than the Huracán STO’s standard 5.2 DOHC V10.
Fuel Economy and Range
The Daytona SP3 has 3.2 gallons more fuel capacity than the Huracán (24.3 vs. 21.1 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.
Environmental Friendliness
In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Ferrari Daytona SP3 higher (3 out of 10) than the Lamborghini Huracán (1). This means the Daytona SP3 produces up to 22.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Huracán every 15,000 miles.
Brakes and Stopping
In an emergency stopping situation, many drivers don’t press the brakes with enough force to stop the vehicle in the shortest distance. The Daytona SP3 has a standard brake assist system to detect emergency braking situations (by how hard and how quickly the brake pedal is pressed) and then automatically apply maximum braking immediately in order to help prevent a collision. The Huracán doesn’t offer a brake assist feature.
Tires and Wheels
For better traction, the Daytona SP3 has larger tires than the Huracán (F:265/30R20 & R:345/30R21 vs. F:235/40R19 & R:285/40R19). The Daytona SP3’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Huracán (F:265/30R20 & R:345/30R21 vs. F:245/30R20 & R:305/30R20).
The Daytona SP3’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Huracán Sterrato’s standard 40 series tires.
For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Daytona SP3 has standard 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the Huracán. The Huracán’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.
Suspension and Handling
For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Daytona SP3’s wheelbase is 1.3 inches longer than on the Huracán Technica Coupe (104.4 inches vs. 103.1 inches). The Daytona SP3’s wheelbase is .9 inches longer than on the Huracán Sterrato (104.4 inches vs. 103.5 inches).
Chassis
The Daytona SP3’s standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The Huracán doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.
Servicing Ease
A maintenance reminder system is standard on the Daytona SP3 to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals based on odometer mileage. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Lamborghini doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Huracán.
Ergonomics
The Daytona SP3’s driver’s power window opens or closes with one touch of the window control, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths. The Huracán’s power windows’ switch has to be held the entire time to close it fully.
The Daytona SP3’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Huracán’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.
To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the Daytona SP3 offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The Huracán doesn’t offer cornering lights.
The Daytona SP3’s sun-visors swivel front-to-side to block glare from the side windows. The Huracán’s visors are fixed into the windshield header.
To help keep the driver’s hands on the wheel, the Daytona SP3 has standard steering wheel controls for the radio. The Huracán doesn’t offer steering wheel audio controls.
