The GranTurismo Folgore has standard Automated Emergency Braking, which use forward mounted sensors to warn the driver of a possible collision ahead. If the driver doesn’t react and the system determines a collision is imminent, it automatically applies the brakes at full-force in order to reduce the force of the crash or avoid it altogether. The GT-R doesn't offer collision warning or crash mitigation brakes.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The GranTurismo Folgore has standard Rear Emergency Braking that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The GT-R doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

The GranTurismo Folgore’s optional lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. The GT-R doesn’t offer a lane departure warning system.

The GranTurismo Folgore’s optional blind spot warning system uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. The GT-R doesn’t offer a system to reveal objects in the driver’s blind spots.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the GranTurismo Folgore’s optional Rear Cross Path uses sensors in the rear to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions. The GT-R doesn’t offer a rear cross-path warning system.

The GranTurismo Folgore’s optional driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The GT-R doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the GranTurismo Folgore and the GT-R have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

The Maserati GranTurismo Folgore weighs 1047 to 1115 pounds more than the Nissan GT-R. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

The GranTurismo Folgore’s electric motors produces 186 more horsepower (751 vs. 565) and 529 lbs.-ft. more torque (996 vs. 467) than the GT-R’s standard 3.8 turbo V6. The GranTurismo Folgore’s electric motors produces 151 more horsepower (751 vs. 600) and 515 lbs.-ft. more torque (996 vs. 481) than the GT-R NISMO’s standard 3.8 turbo V6.

The GranTurismo Folgore can travel with zero emissions for 242 miles. The GT-R can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

Regenerative brakes improve the GranTurismo Folgore’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The GT-R doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The GranTurismo Folgore, as a pure battery electric vehicle, has no need to “idle” its motors in traffic: they only burn power when moving. The GranTurismo Folgore’s climate control systems still work completely when the vehicle is stopped. The GT-R still runs its internal combustion engine whenever it’s stopped, burning excess fuel.

For better traction, the GranTurismo Folgore has larger tires than the GT-R (F:265/30R20 & R:295/30R21 vs. F:255/40R20 & R:285/35R20).

The GranTurismo Folgore’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the GT-R’s standard 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the GranTurismo Folgore has standard 21-inch rear wheels. Only 20-inch wheels are available on the GT-R.

XPYNN-M34HG 2a06:98c0:3600::103 2024/12/21

The front and rear suspension of the GranTurismo Folgore uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the GT-R, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The GranTurismo Folgore has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The GranTurismo Folgore’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The GT-R doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the GranTurismo Folgore’s wheelbase is 5.9 inches longer than on the GT-R (115.3 inches vs. 109.4 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the GranTurismo Folgore is 2 inches wider in the front and 2.4 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the GT-R.

The GranTurismo Folgore’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (50% to 50%) than the GT-R’s (54.7% to 45.3%). This gives the GranTurismo Folgore more stable handling and braking.

The GranTurismo Folgore has a larger trunk than the GT-R (9.5 vs. 8.8 cubic feet).

To make loading and unloading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the GranTurismo Folgore’s trunk can be opened just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The GranTurismo Folgore also offers an optional power trunk, which opens and closes automatically by pressing a button or just by kicking your foot under the back bumper. The GT-R doesn’t offer a power or hands-free opening trunk.

The GranTurismo Folgore uses gas struts to support the hood for easier service access. The GT-R uses a prop rod to support its heavy hood. It takes two hands to open the hood and set the prop rod, the prop rod gets in the way during maintenance and service, and the prop rod could be knocked out, causing the heavy hood to fall on the person maintaining or servicing the car.

When three different drivers share the GranTurismo Folgore, the memory system makes it convenient for all three. Each setting activates different, customized memories for the driver and front passenger’s seat positions, steering wheel position, outside mirror angle, climate settings and radio stations. The GT-R doesn’t offer a memory system.

The GranTurismo Folgore offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed, navigation instruction and driver assistance information readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The GT-R doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The GranTurismo Folgore’s power parking brake sets with one touch and releases with one touch or automatically. The GT-R has a lever-type parking brake that has to be strenuously raised to engage properly. It has to be lifted up more and a button depressed to release it.

If the windows are left open on the GranTurismo Folgore the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the GT-R can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The GranTurismo Folgore’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The GT-R’s intermittent wipers change speed with vehicle speed, but can’t turn on and off or change speed based on changing rainfall.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the GranTurismo Folgore detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The GT-R doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the GranTurismo Folgore offers optional cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The GT-R doesn’t offer cornering lights. The GranTurismo Folgore also offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the GranTurismo Folgore has standard extendable sun visors. The GT-R doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The GranTurismo Folgore’s power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The GT-R’s power mirror controls are on the dash where they are possibly hidden by the steering wheel and are awkward to manipulate.

When the GranTurismo Folgore is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions. The GT-R’s mirrors don’t automatically adjust for backing.

The GranTurismo Folgore’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The GT-R has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

Optional air-conditioned seats in the GranTurismo Folgore keep the driver and front passenger comfortable and take the sting out of hot seats in Summer. The GT-R doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats.

On extremely cold winter days, the GranTurismo Folgore’s optional heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the car heater warms up. The GT-R doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.

Both the GranTurismo Folgore and the GT-R offer rear vents. For greater rear passenger comfort, the GranTurismo Folgore has standard rear air conditioning vents to keep rear occupants cool in summer or warm in winter. The GT-R doesn’t offer rear air conditioning vents, only heat vents.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the GranTurismo Folgore offers an optional Adaptive Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The GT-R doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the front center console. The GT-R doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
