The GranTurismo Folgore’s optional driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Continental GT doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the GranTurismo Folgore and the Continental GT have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems and rear cross-path warning.

The GranTurismo Folgore comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Continental GT’s 3-year basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

The GranTurismo Folgore’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the Continental GT’s (4 vs. 3 years).

There are over 2 times as many Maserati dealers as there are Bentley dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the GranTurismo Folgore’s warranty.

The GranTurismo Folgore’s electric motors produces 209 more horsepower (751 vs. 542) and 428 lbs.-ft. more torque (996 vs. 568) than the Continental GT’s standard 4.0 turbo V8. In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore higher (10 out of 10) than the Bentley Continental GT (3). This means the GranTurismo Folgore produces up to 36.3 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Continental GT every 15,000 miles.

The GranTurismo Folgore’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Continental GT’s standard 40 series front and 35 series rear tires. The GranTurismo Folgore’s tires are lower profile than the Continental GT’s optional 35 series front tires.

The GranTurismo Folgore’s cruise control switch is lit from behind, making it plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The Continental GT’s cruise control switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the GranTurismo Folgore offers optional cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The Continental GT doesn’t offer cornering lights. The GranTurismo Folgore also offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the GranTurismo Folgore has standard extendable sun visors. The Continental GT only offers a small additional center visor.

Both the GranTurismo Folgore and the Continental GT offer rear vents. For greater rear passenger comfort, the GranTurismo Folgore has standard rear air conditioning vents to keep rear occupants cool in summer or warm in winter. The Continental GT doesn’t offer rear air conditioning vents, only heat vents.
