The GranCabrio Foglore can travel with zero emissions on a full charge for 233 miles. The LC 500h has to start its internal combustion engine after only .6 miles.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Maserati GranCabrio Foglore higher (10 out of 10) than the Lexus LC (5 to 7). This means the GranCabrio Foglore produces up to 19.8 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the LC every 15,000 miles.

All wheel drive, available in the GranCabrio Foglore, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Lexus LC is not available with all wheel drive.

The GranCabrio Foglore’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The LC doesn’t offer launch control.

For better traction, the GranCabrio Foglore has larger tires than the LC (F:265/30R20 & R:295/30R21 vs. F:245/45R20 & R:275/40R20).

The GranCabrio Foglore’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the LC’s standard 45 series front and 40 series rear tires. The GranCabrio Foglore’s tires are lower profile than the LC’s optional 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the GranCabrio Foglore has standard 21-inch rear wheels. Smaller 20-inch wheels are standard on the LC.

The front and rear suspension of the GranCabrio Foglore uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the LC, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The GranCabrio Foglore has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The GranCabrio Foglore’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The LC doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the GranCabrio Foglore’s wheelbase is 2.3 inches longer than on the LC (115.3 inches vs. 113 inches).

The GranCabrio Foglore’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (50% to 50%) than the LC’s (52% to 48%). This gives the GranCabrio Foglore more stable handling and braking.

Because it has more passenger and cargo room, the EPA rates the GranCabrio Foglore a Subcompact car, while the LC Convertible is rated a Minicompact.

The GranCabrio Foglore has 13.8 cubic feet more passenger volume than the LC Convertible (89 vs. 75.2).

The GranCabrio Foglore has a larger trunk with its top down than the LC Convertible (4 vs. 3.4 cubic feet).

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the LC, the GranCabrio Foglore has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position, outside mirror angle, climate settings and radio stations and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The LC’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The GranCabrio Foglore’s standard adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the GranCabrio Foglore has standard extendable sun visors. The LC doesn’t offer extendable visors.

When the GranCabrio Foglore is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions. The LC’s mirrors don’t automatically adjust for backing.

The GranCabrio Foglore has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the LC.

For greater rear passenger comfort, the GranCabrio Foglore has standard rear a/c vents to keep rear occupants more comfortable. The LC doesn’t offer rear vents.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Maserati GranCabrio Foglore has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the glovebox. The LC doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
