The GranCabrio Foglore has standard Automated Emergency Braking, which use forward mounted sensors to warn the driver of a possible collision ahead. If the driver doesn’t react and the system determines a collision is imminent, it automatically applies the brakes at full-force in order to reduce the force of the crash or avoid it altogether. The Huracán doesn't offer collision warning or crash mitigation brakes.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The GranCabrio Foglore has standard Rear Emergency Braking that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Huracán doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, Full-Time Four-Wheel Drive is standard on the GranCabrio Foglore. But it costs extra on the Huracán.

The GranCabrio Foglore’s optional lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. The Huracán doesn’t offer a lane departure warning system.

The GranCabrio Foglore offers an optional Surround View Camera to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The Huracán only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

The GranCabrio Foglore’s optional blind spot warning system uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. The Huracán doesn’t offer a system to reveal objects in the driver’s blind spots.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the GranCabrio Foglore’s optional Rear Cross Path uses sensors in the rear to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions. The Huracán doesn’t offer a rear cross-path warning system.

The GranCabrio Foglore’s optional driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Huracán doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

The GranCabrio Foglore has standard SOS and Assist Call, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Huracán doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the GranCabrio Foglore and the Huracán have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

The Maserati GranCabrio Foglore weighs 1758 to 2206 pounds more than the Lamborghini Huracán. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

The GranCabrio Foglore comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Huracán’s 3-year basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

There are almost 3 times as many Maserati dealers as there are Lamborghini dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the GranCabrio Foglore’s warranty.

In an emergency stopping situation, many drivers don’t press the brakes with enough force to stop the vehicle in the shortest distance. The GranCabrio Foglore has a standard Brake Assist System to detect emergency braking situations (by how hard and how quickly the brake pedal is pressed) and then automatically apply maximum braking immediately in order to help prevent a collision. The Huracán doesn’t offer a brake assist feature.

For better traction, the GranCabrio Foglore has larger tires than the Huracán (F:265/30R20 & R:295/30R21 vs. F:235/40R19 & R:285/40R19). The GranCabrio Foglore’s front tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Huracán (265/30R20 vs. 245/30R20).

The GranCabrio Foglore’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Huracán Sterrato’s standard 40 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the GranCabrio Foglore has standard 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the Huracán. The Huracán’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.

The front and rear suspension of the GranCabrio Foglore uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Huracán, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The GranCabrio Foglore has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The GranCabrio Foglore’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The Huracán doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the GranCabrio Foglore’s wheelbase is 12.2 inches longer than on the Huracán Technica Coupe (115.3 inches vs. 103.1 inches). The GranCabrio Foglore’s wheelbase is 11.8 inches longer than on the Huracán Sterrato (115.3 inches vs. 103.5 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the GranCabrio Foglore is 1.1 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the Huracán.

The GranCabrio Foglore’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (50% to 50%) than the Huracán’s (43% to 57%). This gives the GranCabrio Foglore more stable handling and braking.

A maintenance reminder system is standard on the GranCabrio Foglore to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals based on odometer mileage. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Lamborghini doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Huracán.

The GranCabrio Foglore has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Huracán doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

When three different drivers share the GranCabrio Foglore, the memory system makes it convenient for all three. Each setting activates different, customized memories for the driver and front passenger’s seat positions, steering wheel position, outside mirror angle, climate settings and radio stations. The Huracán doesn’t offer a memory system.

The GranCabrio Foglore’s front and rear power windows all open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Huracán’s power windows’ switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully.

The GranCabrio Foglore’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Huracán’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the GranCabrio Foglore detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The Huracán doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the GranCabrio Foglore has standard cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The Huracán doesn’t offer cornering lights. The GranCabrio Foglore also has standard adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the GranCabrio Foglore has standard extendable sun visors. The Huracán doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The GranCabrio Foglore’s sun-visors swivel front-to-side to block glare from the side windows. The Huracán’s visors are fixed into the windshield header.

The GranCabrio Foglore’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Huracán offers an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

Optional air-conditioned seats in the GranCabrio Foglore keep the driver and front passenger comfortable and take the sting out of hot seats in Summer. The Huracán doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats.

On extremely cold winter days, the GranCabrio Foglore’s standard heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the car heater warms up. The Huracán doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the GranCabrio Foglore offers an optional Adaptive Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The Huracán doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.

To help keep the driver’s hands on the wheel, the GranCabrio Foglore has standard steering wheel controls for the radio. The Huracán doesn’t offer steering wheel audio controls.
