The EQE Sedan has Car-to-X Communication, a system that seemlesly communicates important warnings to the driver about impending danger, if they're available. The C40 Recharge doesn’t offer a system that can receive automated systems from infrastructure or other vehicles.

Both the EQE Sedan and the C40 Recharge have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, post-collision automatic braking systems, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The Mercedes EQE Sedan weighs 431 to 764 pounds more than the Volvo C40 Recharge. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

The EQE Sedan has a standard locking charge port which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The C40 Recharge doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

The EQE Sedan AMG offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The C40 Recharge doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better traction, the EQE Sedan has larger standard tires than the C40 Recharge (255/40R20 vs. 235/45R20). The AMG EQE’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the C40 Recharge (F:265/40R20 & R:295/35R20 vs. 235/45R20).

The EQE Sedan’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the C40 Recharge Core’s standard 50 series tires. The EQE Sedan’s optional 255/35R21 front and 285/30R21 rear tires have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile than the C40 Recharge’s optional 45 series tires.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires available on the EQE Sedan can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The C40 Recharge doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

The EQE Sedan offers an available driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads. The EQE Sedan has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The EQE Sedan’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The C40 Recharge doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the EQE Sedan’s wheelbase is 16.4 inches longer than on the C40 Recharge (122.8 inches vs. 106.4 inches).

With its sedan body style, locking rear seatbacks and remote trunk release lockout, the EQE offers cargo security. The C40 Recharge’s sport utility bodystyle defeats cargo security.

The EQE Sedan’s standard easy entry and exit feature raises the steering wheel and glides the driver’s seat back, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. The C40 Recharge doesn’t offer an easy entry system.

The EQE Sedan offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed and navigation instruction readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The C40 Recharge doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

Heated windshield washer fluid is optional on the EQE Sedan to defrost the washer nozzles and quickly clear ice and frost from the windshield without scraping. The C40 Recharge doesn’t offer heated windshield washer fluid. Its standard heated washer nozzles will defrost the washer fluid but not the windshield.

Optional air-conditioned seats in the EQE Sedan keep the driver and front passenger comfortable and take the sting out of hot seats in Summer. The C40 Recharge doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats.
