The EQE Sedan AMG offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The i7 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better traction, the EQE Sedan has larger standard tires than the i7 (255/40R20 vs. 245/50R19). The AMG EQE’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the i7 (F:265/40R20 & R:295/35R20 vs. F:255/45R20 & R:285/40R20).

The EQE Sedan’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the i7’s 50 series tires. The EQE Sedan’s optional 255/35R21 front and 285/30R21 rear tires have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile than the i7’s optional 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the EQE Sedan has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the i7.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires available on the EQE Sedan can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The i7 doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

The EQE Sedan’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The i7 doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

The AMG EQE handles at .99 G’s, while the i7 xDrive60 pulls only .95 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The AMG EQE executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the i7 xDrive60 (23.8 seconds @ .83 average G’s vs. 24.5 seconds @ .78 average G’s).
