The BMW X4 M doesn’t offer pretensioners for its rear seat belts.

For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Mercedes AMG GLC Coupe are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The BMW X4 M doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

Earlier warning of stopped traffic, traffic signals, dangerous road conditions, weather, or accidents, can keep driver's safer and prevent crashes. The AMG GLC Coupe has Car-to-X, a system that seamlessly communicates important warnings to the driver about impending danger, if they're available. The X4 M doesn’t offer a system that can receive automated systems from other vehicles.

Both the AMG GLC Coupe and X4 M have rear cross-traffic warning, but the AMG GLC Coupe has Active Brake Assist (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The X4 M’s Cross Traffic Warning doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the AMG GLC Coupe and the X4 M have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available lane departure warning systems.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Mercedes AMG GLC Coupe higher (5 out of 10) than the BMW X4 M (3). This means the AMG GLC Coupe produces up to 16.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the X4 M every 15,000 miles.

A nine-speed automatic is standard on the Mercedes AMG GLC Coupe, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the X4 M.

For better traction, the AMG GLC Coupe has larger tires than the X4 M (F:265/40R21 & R:295/38R21 vs. F:255/45R20 & R:265/45R20).

The AMG GLC 43 Coupe’s standard 295/40R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the X4 M’s standard 45 series tires. The AMG GLC 43 Coupe’s 295/38R21 rear tires have a lower 38 series profile than the X4 M Competition’s 40 series tires.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires available on the AMG GLC Coupe can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The X4 M doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

The AMG GLC Coupe’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The X4 M doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the AMG GLC Coupe is 1.8 inches wider in the front and 1.3 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the X4 M.

For better maneuverability, the AMG GLC Coupe’s turning circle is .6 feet tighter than the X4 M’s (40.7 feet vs. 41.3 feet).

The AMG GLC Coupe has 1.1 inches more rear headroom and 1.7 inches more rear legroom than the X4 M.

The AMG GLC Coupe has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the X4 M with its rear seat up (21.5 vs. 18.5 cubic feet). The AMG GLC Coupe has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the X4 M with its rear seat folded (52.6 vs. 50.5 cubic feet).

Standard Trailer Stability Assist on the AMG GLC Coupe uses the Electronic Stability Program sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The X4 M doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the X4 M, the AMG GLC Coupe has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The AMG GLC Coupe’s standard easy entry system raises the steering wheel and glides the driver’s seat back, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. The X4 M doesn’t offer an easy entry system.

The AMG GLC Coupe’s standard Keyless-Go allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Comfort Access standard on the X4 M doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.

Heated windshield washer fluid is standard on the AMG GLC Coupe to defrost the washer nozzles and quickly clear ice and frost from the windshield without scraping. The X4 M doesn’t offer heated windshield washer fluid.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Mercedes AMG GLC has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the X4 M.

The AMG GLC Coupe has a 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The X4 M doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
