Compare the2025 Genesis GV80VS 2024 Lincoln Nautilus

The GV80’s optional pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Nautilus doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The GV80 has a standard front seat center airbag, which deploys between the driver and front passenger, protecting them from injuries caused by striking each other in serious side impacts. The Nautilus doesn’t offer front seat center airbags.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the GV80’s standard Downhill Brake Control allows you to creep down safely. The Nautilus doesn’t offer Downhill Brake Control.

Both the GV80 and the Nautilus have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The GV80 comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Nautilus’ 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 10,000 miles sooner.

Genesis’ powertrain warranty covers the GV80 4 years and 30,000 miles longer than Lincoln covers the Nautilus. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the Nautilus ends after only 6 years or 70,000 miles.

The GV80’s corrosion warranty is 2 years longer than the Nautilus’ (7 vs. 5 years).

Genesis pays for scheduled maintenance on the GV80 for 3 years and 36,000 miles. Genesis will pay for oil changes, tire rotations, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Lincoln only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Nautilus.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the GV80 third among upper midsize premium suvs in their 2024 Initial Quality Study. The Nautilus isn’t in the top three in its category.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Genesis vehicles are better in initial quality than Lincoln vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Genesis above average in initial quality. With 40 more problems per 100 vehicles, Lincoln is rated below average.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Genesis vehicles are more reliable than Lincoln With 51 fewer problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, J.D. Power ranks Genesis higher than Lincoln.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Genesis vehicles are more reliable than Lincoln vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Genesis 5 places higher in reliability than Lincoln.

The GV80 2.5T’s standard 2.5 turbo 4-cylinder produces 50 more horsepower (300 vs. 250) and 36 lbs.-ft. more torque (311 vs. 275) than the Nautilus’ standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder. The GV80 2.5T’s 2.5 turbo 4-cylinder produces 16 lbs.-ft. more torque (311 vs. 295) than the Nautilus’ optional 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder hybrid. The GV80 3.5T’s standard 3.5 turbo V6 produces 75 more horsepower (375 vs. 300) and 96 lbs.-ft. more torque (391 vs. 295) than the Nautilus’ optional 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder hybrid.

As tested in Car and Driver the Genesis GV80 is faster than the Lincoln Nautilus:

The GV80 has a gallon more fuel capacity than the Nautilus Hybrid’s standard fuel tank (21.1 vs. 20.1 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better stopping power the GV80’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Nautilus:

The GV80’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs on the Nautilus are solid, not vented.

The GV80 stops much shorter than the Nautilus:

For better traction, the GV80 has larger tires than the Nautilus (265/40R22 vs. 255/60R19).

The GV80’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 55 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Nautilus’ standard 60 series tires. The GV80’s optional tires have a lower 40 series profile than the Nautilus’ optional 45 series tires.

The GV80 offers an optional automatic rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Nautilus doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the GV80’s wheelbase is 2.1 inches longer than on the Nautilus (116.3 inches vs. 114.2 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the GV80 is .7 inches wider in the front and 1.2 inches wider in the rear than on the Nautilus.

The GV80 Prestige handles at .86 G’s, while the Nautilus Black Label pulls only .77 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

For greater off-road capability the GV80 has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Nautilus (8.1 vs. 7.9 inches), allowing the GV80 to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The front grille of the GV80 uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Nautilus doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The GV80 offers optional seating for 7 passengers; the Nautilus can only carry 5.

The GV80 has 26.5 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Nautilus (140 vs. 113.5).

The GV80 has .6 inches more front headroom, 1.3 inches more front shoulder room and .2 inches more rear shoulder room than the Nautilus.

The GV80’s cargo area provides more volume than the Nautilus.

A standard locking glovebox (which can’t be accessed with the valet key) keeps your small valuables safer in the GV80. The Nautilus doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The GV80’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Nautilus’ (6000 vs. 0 pounds).

The engine in the GV80 is mounted longitudinally (North-South), instead of sideways, as in the Nautilus. This makes it easier to service and maintain, because the accessory belts are in front.

The GV80 Prestige/3.5T has a standard heads-up display that projects speed and navigation instruction readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Nautilus doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The GV80’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Nautilus has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

Both the Genesis GV80 and the Lincoln Nautilus have a standard Qi wireless phone charging system in the front seat. To easily keep personal devices charged in the second row seat, without cables tangling and wearing out, the GV80 also offers an optional wireless charging system.

The GV80 Advanced/Prestige’s Smart Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Smart Parking Assist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Nautilus’ automatic parking system does not offer parking by remote control.

The GV80 was chosen as a Car and Driver’s “Top Ten” for 2021. The Nautilus has never been chosen by Car and Driver in their “10Best” issue.
