The Chevrolet Camaro has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Charger doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

Both the Camaro and the Charger have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available collision warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rear parking sensors and rear cross-path warning.

The Camaro’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the Charger’s (6 vs. 5 years).

There are over 20 percent more Chevrolet dealers than there are Dodge dealers, which makes it easier should you ever need service under the Camaro’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the Camaro first among midsize sporty cars in their 2023 Initial Quality Study. The Charger isn’t in the top three in its category.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Chevrolet vehicles are more reliable than Dodge vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Chevrolet 1 place higher in reliability than Dodge.

The Camaro ZL1’s 6.2 supercharged V8 produces 23 lbs.-ft. more torque (650 vs. 627) than the Charger Daytona Scat Pack Coupe’s optional electric motors.

The Camaro’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 50 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Charger’s standard 55 series tires. The Camaro SS 1LE/ZL1’s tires have a lower 30 series profile than the Charger Daytona Scat Pack Coupe’s 35 series tires.

The Camaro has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Charger doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires available on the Camaro can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The Charger doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

For better maneuverability, the Camaro’s turning circle is 1.9 feet tighter than the Charger Coupe’s (38.1 feet vs. 40 feet). The Camaro ZL1’s turning circle is 1.6 feet tighter than the Charger Coupe’s (38.4 feet vs. 40 feet).

The Chevrolet Camaro may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1700 to 2450 pounds less than the Dodge Charger.

The Camaro is 1 foot, 6.2 inches shorter than the Charger Daytona Scat Pack Coupe, making the Camaro easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Chevrolet Camaro comes in coupe and convertible bodystyles; the Dodge Charger isn’t available as a convertible.

Motor Trend selected the Camaro as their 2016 Car of the Year. The Charger has never been chosen.
