Compare the2024 Chevrolet Blazer EVVS 2024 Honda Prologue

The Blazer EV’s optional driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Prologue doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Blazer EV and the Prologue have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rear parking sensors, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

The Blazer EV’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the Prologue’s (6 vs. 5 years).

There are almost 3 times as many Chevrolet dealers as there are Honda dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Blazer EV’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2023 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Chevrolet vehicles are better in initial quality than Honda vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Chevrolet above average in initial quality. With 24 more problems per 100 vehicles, Honda is rated lower.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2022 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Chevrolet vehicles are more reliable than Honda vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Chevrolet above average in long-term dependability. With 21 more problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, Honda is rated below average.

The Blazer EV’s standard electric motors produces 76 more horsepower (288 vs. 212) and 97 lbs.-ft. more torque (333 vs. 236) than the Prologue’s standard electric motor.

On the EPA test cycle the Blazer EV gets better mileage than the Prologue:

The Blazer EV can travel longer on a full charge than the Prologue Elite (279 miles vs. 273 miles).

Regenerative brakes improve the Blazer EV’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Prologue doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The Blazer EV has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Prologue doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

The Blazer EV has 1.3 inches more front headroom, 2.8 inches more front legroom and .7 inches more rear shoulder room than the Prologue.

The Blazer EV has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Prologue with its rear seat up (25.5 vs. 25.2 cubic feet). The Blazer EV has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Prologue with its rear seat folded (59.1 vs. 57.7 cubic feet).

Maximum trailer towing in the Honda Prologue is limited to 1500 pounds. The Blazer EV RS 4x4 offers up to a 3500 lbs. towing capacity.

Standard Trailer Sway Control on the Blazer EV uses the StabiliTrak® sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Prologue doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

The Blazer EV RS’ standard wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically according to the amount of rainfall on the windshield. The Prologue’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

The Blazer EV’s optional rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Prologue offers an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

Both the Blazer EV and the Prologue offer available heated front seats. The Blazer EV RS also offers optional heated rear seats to keep those passengers extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated rear seats aren’t available in the Prologue.

Motor Trend selected the Blazer EV as their 2024 Sport Utility of the Year. The Prologue has never been chosen.
