Both the Panamera and Quattroporte have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Panamera has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The Quattroporte’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

The Porsche Panamera has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the Panamera helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard and even aims one of the vehicle’s headlights in the direction of the person or object. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the Panamera and Quattroporte have rear cross-traffic warning, but the Panamera has Rear Cross Traffic Alert (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Quattroporte’s Rear Cross Path doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the Panamera and the Quattroporte have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, available all wheel drive and around view monitors.

The Panamera’s corrosion warranty is 8 years and unlimited miles longer than the Quattroporte’s (12/unlimited vs. 4/50,000).

There are over 83 percent more Porsche dealers than there are Maserati dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Panamera’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2023 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Porsche vehicles are better in initial quality than Maserati vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Porsche above average in initial quality. With 15 more problems per 100 vehicles, Maserati is rated lower.

The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid’s standard 2.9 turbo V6 hybrid produces 39 more horsepower (463 vs. 424) and 51 lbs.-ft. more torque (479 vs. 428) than the Quattroporte’s 3.0 turbo V6. The Panamera 4S E-Hybrid’s standard 2.9 turbo V6 hybrid produces 112 more horsepower (536 vs. 424) and 125 lbs.-ft. more torque (553 vs. 428) than the Quattroporte’s 3.0 turbo V6. The Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 246 more horsepower (670 vs. 424) and 258 lbs.-ft. more torque (686 vs. 428) than the Quattroporte’s 3.0 turbo V6.

On the EPA test cycle the Panamera 4 2.9 turbo V6 running its gasoline engine gets better fuel mileage than the Quattroporte Ultima (18 city/25 hwy vs. 17 city/25 hwy).

Regenerative brakes improve the Panamera’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The Panamera’s standard fuel tank has 2.8 gallons more fuel capacity than the Quattroporte (23.9 vs. 21.1 gallons).

The Panamera offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

The Panamera offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better traction, the Panamera has larger standard tires than the Quattroporte (F:265/45R19 & R:295/40R19 vs. F:245/35R21 & R:285/30R21). The Panamera’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Quattroporte (F:275/35R21 & R:325/30R21 vs. F:245/35R21 & R:285/30R21).

The front and rear suspension of the Panamera uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Quattroporte, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Panamera offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Maserati doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Quattroporte.

The Panamera has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Panamera’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Panamera is 1.5 inches wider in the front and .2 inches wider in the rear than on the Quattroporte.

The Panamera is 8.3 inches shorter than the Quattroporte, making the Panamera easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Standard Trailer Stability Management on the Panamera uses the Porsche Stability Management sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Quattroporte, the Panamera has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, outside mirror angle, climate settings and radio stations and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Panamera offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed, tachometer, navigation instruction and driver assistance information readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Panamera’s standard Porsche Entry and Drive allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the trunk, and start the car, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Keyless Go standard on the Quattroporte doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.

The Panamera has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the Quattroporte.

The Panamera offers optional massaging front and rear seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the Quattroporte.

The Panamera’s optional Remote ParkAssist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote ParkAssist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

The Panamera is available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
