Both the Panamera and CT5-V have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Panamera has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The CT5-V’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the Panamera helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard and even aims one of the vehicle’s headlights in the direction of the person or object. The CT5-V doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the Panamera and CT5-V have Rear Cross Traffic Alert, but the Panamera has automatic rear cross-traffic braking (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The CT5-V’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the Panamera and the CT5-V have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, available all wheel drive and around view monitors.

The Panamera’s corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the CT5-V’s (12 vs. 6 years).

For smoother operation, better efficiency and fewer moving parts, the engines in the Panamera have an overhead cam design, rather than the old pushrod design of the 6.2 supercharged V8 in the CT5-V.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2023 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Porsche vehicles are better in initial quality than Cadillac vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Porsche above average in initial quality. With 3 more problems per 100 vehicles, Cadillac is rated lower.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2022 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Porsche vehicles are more reliable than Cadillac vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Porsche above average in long-term dependability. With 30 more problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, Cadillac is rated lower.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Porsche vehicles are more reliable than Cadillac vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Porsche 8 places higher in reliability than Cadillac.

The Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid’s 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 2 more horsepower (670 vs. 668) and 27 lbs.-ft. more torque (686 vs. 659) than the CT5-V Blackwing’s optional 6.2 supercharged V8.

Regenerative brakes improve the Panamera’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The CT5-V doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

Regardless of its engine, the Panamera’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The CT5-V Blackwing doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The Panamera’s standard fuel tank has 3.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the CT5-V (21.1 vs. 17.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups. The Panamera’s standard fuel tank has 6.4 gallons more fuel capacity than the CT5-V (23.9 vs. 17.5 gallons).

The Panamera offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The CT5-V doesn’t offer an SMG.

For better stopping power the Panamera’s brake rotors are larger than those on the CT5-V:

The Panamera offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The CT5-V doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better traction, the Panamera has larger standard tires than the CT5-V (F:265/45R19 & R:295/40R19 vs. 245/40R19).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Panamera offers optional 21-inch wheels. The CT5-V’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.

The front and rear suspension of the Panamera uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the CT5-V, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Panamera offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Cadillac doesn’t offer an active suspension on the CT5-V.

The Panamera has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Panamera’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The CT5-V doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Panamera is 2.8 inches wider in the front and 1.9 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the CT5-V.

For better maneuverability, the Panamera’s turning circle is 3.6 feet tighter than the CT5-V Blackwing’s (39 feet vs. 42.6 feet).

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Panamera’s available rear seats recline. The CT5-V’s rear seats don’t recline.

To make loading and unloading groceries and cargo easier, especially for short adults, the Panamera has a standard power liftgate, which opens and closes automatically by pressing a button or just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, completely leaving your hands free. The CT5-V doesn’t offer a power trunk.

Standard Trailer Stability Management on the Panamera uses the Porsche Stability Management sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The CT5-V doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the CT5-V, the Panamera has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, outside mirror angle, climate settings and radio stations and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Panamera to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The CT5-V doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

The CT5-V’s optional cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The Panamera’s optional adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

A power rear sunshade and rear side window sunshades are optional in the Panamera to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The CT5-V doesn’t offer a rear or rear side window sunshades.

The Panamera has standard heated front seats. Heated front seats cost extra on the CT5-V. The Panamera also offers optional heated rear seats to keep those passengers extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated rear seats aren’t available in the CT5-V.

Optional air conditioned front and rear seats keep the Panamera’s passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The CT5-V doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

The Panamera has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the CT5-V.

Both the Panamera and the CT5-V offer optional massaging front seats. The Panamera also offers optional massaging rear seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging rear seats aren’t available in the CT5-V.

The Panamera’s optional Remote ParkAssist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote ParkAssist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The CT5-V (except Manual)’s automatic parking system does not offer parking by remote control.
