The Mercedes AMG GT has Car-to-X Communication, a system that seamlessly communicates important warnings to the driver about impending danger, if they're available. The GranTurismo doesn’t offer a system that can receive automated systems from infrastructure or other vehicles.

Both the Mercedes AMG GT and the GranTurismo have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding and daytime running lights.

The Mercedes AMG GT’s corrosion warranty is 1 year and unlimited miles longer than the GranTurismo’s (5/unlimited vs. 4/50,000).

There are almost 4 times as many Mercedes dealers as there are Maserati dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the AMG GT’s warranty.

A nine-speed automatic (SMG) is standard on the Mercedes AMG GT, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the GranTurismo.

The Mercedes AMG GT offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The GranTurismo doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

For better traction, the Mercedes AMG GT has larger tires than the GranTurismo (F:295/30R20 & R:305/30R20 vs. F:265/30R20 & R:295/30R21).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Mercedes AMG GT offers optional 21-inch wheels. The GranTurismo’s largest wheels are only 20-inches in the front and 21-inches in the rear.

The Mercedes AMG GT offers an available active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Maserati doesn’t offer an active suspension on the GranTurismo.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Mercedes AMG GT is 1.5 inches wider in the front and 1 inch wider in the rear than on the GranTurismo.

The Mercedes AMG GT is 9.1 inches shorter than the GranTurismo Modena, making the Mercedes AMG GT easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Mercedes AMG GT has a larger trunk with its rear seat up than the GranTurismo (11.3 vs. 10.9 cubic feet).

The Mercedes AMG GT has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the GranTurismo.

The Mercedes AMG GT offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the GranTurismo.
