In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Silverado EV are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Endurance doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The Silverado EV has standard Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, which use forward mounted sensors to warn the driver of a possible collision ahead. If the driver doesn’t react and the system determines a collision is imminent, it automatically applies the brakes at full-force in order to reduce the force of the crash or avoid it altogether. The Endurance doesn't offer collision warning or crash mitigation brakes.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Silverado EV has standard Reverse Automatic Braking that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Endurance doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

The Silverado EV’s lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. The Endurance doesn’t offer a lane departure warning system.

The Silverado EV has a standard HD Surround Vision to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The Endurance only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Silverado EV’s standard Rear Cross Traffic Alert uses sensors in the rear to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side and Rear Cross Traffic Braking automatically engages the brakes to help avoid a collision. The Endurance doesn’t offer a rear cross-path warning system.

The Silverado EV RST’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Endurance doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

The Silverado EV has standard OnStar®, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to get turn-by-turn driving directions, remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Endurance doesn’t offer a GPS response system, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Silverado EV and the Endurance have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding and rearview cameras.

The Chevrolet Silverado EV weighs 2350 pounds more than the Lordstown Endurance. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

The Silverado EV RST’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 50 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Endurance’s 60 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Silverado EV RST has standard 24-inch wheels. The Endurance’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.

The Chevrolet Silverado EV’s wheels have 8 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Lordstown Endurance only has 6 wheel lugs per wheel.

The Silverado EV has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Endurance doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

For superior ride and handling, the Chevrolet Silverado EV has fully independent front and rear suspensions. An independent suspension allows the wheels to follow the road at the best angle for gripping the pavement, without compromising ride comfort. The Lordstown Endurance has a solid rear axle, with a non-independent rear suspension.

The Silverado EV has standard front and rear stabilizer bars, which help keep the Silverado EV flat and controlled during cornering. The Endurance’s suspension doesn’t offer a rear stabilizer bar.

The front and rear suspension of the Silverado EV uses coil springs for better ride, handling and control than the Endurance, which uses leaf springs in the rear. Coil springs compress more progressively and offer more suspension travel for a smoother ride with less bottoming out.

The Silverado EV offers an available driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads. The Endurance’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The Silverado EV RST has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Silverado EV’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The Endurance doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For better maneuverability, the Silverado EV RST w/rear wheel steering’s turning circle is 4.8 feet tighter than the Endurance’s (42.2 feet vs. 47 feet).

The Silverado EV’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Endurance’s (10,000 vs. 8000 pounds). Maximum trailer towing in the Lordstown Endurance is only 8000 pounds. The Silverado EV offers up to a 12500 lbs. towing capacity.

Standard Trailer Sway Control on the Silverado EV uses the StabiliTrak® sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Endurance doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

The Silverado EV has a much higher standard payload capacity than the Endurance (1300 vs. 1050 lbs.).

The Silverado EV has a much higher optional payload capacity than the Endurance (1750 vs. 1050 lbs.).

The Silverado EV has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Endurance doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

To help each driver find a more comfortable driving position, the Silverado EV has a power telescoping steering wheel. Much better than just a tilt steering wheel or adjustable seat, this allows a short driver to sit further from the steering wheel while maintaining contact with the pedals. The Endurance doesn’t offer a telescoping steering wheel.

When two different drivers share the Silverado EV RST, the memory seats and mirrors make it convenient for both. Each setting activates different, customized memories for the driver’s seat position and outside mirror angle. The Endurance doesn’t offer a memory system.

The Silverado EV offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed, warning, navigation instruction and driver assistance information readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Endurance doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Silverado EV’s standard front and rear power windows all lower with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Endurance’s passenger windows don’t open automatically.

The Silverado EV’s standard Keyless Open and Start allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, unlock the tailgate, and start the truck, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Push Button Start standard on the Endurance only offers hands-free access for the ignition, none to unlock the truck.

The Silverado EV’s standard variable intermittent wipers have an adjustable delay to allow the driver to choose a setting that best clears the windshield during light rain or mist. The Endurance’s fixed intermittent wipers only have one fixed delay setting, so the driver will have to manually switch them between slow and intermittent. The Silverado EV RST’s standard wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically according to the amount of rainfall on the windshield.

The Silverado EV’s standard outside mirrors include heating elements to clear off the mirrors for better visibility. The Endurance doesn’t offer heated side mirrors.

The Silverado EV RST’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Endurance doesn’t offer the luxury of automatic dimming mirrors.

On extremely cold winter days, the Silverado EV RST’s standard heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the vehicle heater warms up. The Endurance doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.

The Silverado EV’s standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. The Endurance doesn’t offer dual zone air conditioning.

The Silverado EV’s standard automatic temperature control maintains the temperature you set, automatically controlling fan speed, vents and temperature to maintain a consistent, comfortable environment. The Endurance doesn’t offer automatic air conditioning.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Silverado EV has a standard Adaptive Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The Endurance doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.

The Silverado EV’s standard GPS navigation system has a real-time traffic update feature that plots alternative routes to automatically bypass traffic problems. (Service not available in all areas.) The Endurance’s available navigation system doesn’t offer real-time traffic updates.

The Silverado EV RST’s Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The Endurance doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
