The Hummer EV Pickup has standard OnStar®, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to get turn-by-turn driving directions, remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Cybertruck doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Hummer EV Pickup and the Cybertruck have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and driver alert monitors.

The GMC Hummer EV Pickup weighs 2113 to 2342 pounds more than the Tesla Cybertruck. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

The Hummer EV Pickup’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Cybertruck doesn’t offer launch control.

For better stopping power the Hummer EV Pickup’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Cybertruck:

In an emergency stopping situation, many drivers don’t press the brakes with enough force to stop the vehicle in the shortest distance. The Hummer EV Pickup has a standard Brake Assist System to detect emergency braking situations (by how hard and how quickly the brake pedal is pressed) and then automatically apply maximum braking immediately in order to help prevent a collision. The Cybertruck doesn’t offer a brake assist feature.

For better traction, the Hummer EV Pickup has larger tires than the Cybertruck (305/70R18 vs. 285/65R20).

The Hummer EV Pickup’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 55 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Cybertruck’s 65 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Hummer EV Pickup has standard 22-inch wheels. The Cybertruck’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.

The Hummer EV Pickup’s standard side window demisters help clear frost or condensation from the side windows in the winter. The Cybertruck doesn’t even offer side window demisters, so the driver may have to wipe the windows from the outside to gain side vision.

The Hummer EV Pickup’s Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The Cybertruck doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
