Both the Hummer EV Pickup and Titan have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Hummer EV Pickup has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The Titan’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, Full-Time Four-Wheel Drive is standard on the Hummer EV Pickup. But it costs extra on the Titan.

Both the Hummer EV Pickup and the Titan have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The GMC Hummer EV Pickup weighs 3078 to 3483 pounds more than the Nissan Titan. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

Warranty

The Hummer EV Pickup’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the Titan’s (6 vs. 5 years).

There are over 54 percent more GMC dealers than there are Nissan dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Hummer EV Pickup’s warranty.

Reliability

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2023 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that GMC vehicles are better in initial quality than Nissan vehicles. J.D. Power ranks GMC above average in initial quality. With 13 more problems per 100 vehicles, Nissan is rated lower.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2022 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that GMC vehicles are more reliable than Nissan With 13 fewer problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, J.D. Power ranks GMC higher than Nissan.

Engine

The Hummer EV Pickup’s standard electric motors produces 430 more horsepower (830 vs. 400) and 787 lbs.-ft. more torque (1200 vs. 413) than the Titan’s 5.6 DOHC V8. The Hummer EV Pickup’s optional electric motors produces 600 more horsepower (1000 vs. 400) and 11087 lbs.-ft. more torque (11500 vs. 413) than the Titan’s 5.6 DOHC V8.

As tested in Motor Trend the GMC Hummer EV Pickup (1000 HP engine) is faster than the Nissan Titan:

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the Hummer EV Pickup gets better mileage than the Titan:

The Hummer EV Pickup can travel with zero emissions for 298 to 314 miles (dependent on model). The Titan can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

Regenerative brakes improve the Hummer EV Pickup’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Titan doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The Hummer EV Pickup, as a pure battery electric vehicle, has no need to “idle” its motors in traffic: they only burn power when moving. The Hummer EV Pickup’s climate control systems still work completely when the vehicle is stopped. The Titan still runs its internal combustion engine whenever it’s stopped, burning excess fuel.

Environmental Friendliness

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the GMC Hummer EV Pickup higher (10 out of 10) than the Nissan Titan (3). This means the Hummer EV Pickup produces up to 36.3 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Titan every 15,000 miles.

Transmission

The Hummer EV Pickup’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Titan doesn’t offer launch control.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the Hummer EV Pickup’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Titan:

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Hummer EV Pickup has larger tires than the Titan (305/70R18 vs. 265/70R18). The Hummer EV Pickup 2X/3X’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Titan (305/70R18 vs. 275/70R18).

The Hummer EV Pickup’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 55 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Titan’s optional 60 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Hummer EV Pickup has standard 22-inch wheels. The Titan’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.

The GMC Hummer EV Pickup’s wheels have 8 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Nissan Titan only has 6 wheel lugs per wheel.

The Hummer EV Pickup has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Titan doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

Suspension and Handling

For superior ride and handling, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup has fully independent front and rear suspensions. An independent suspension allows the wheels to follow the road at the best angle for gripping the pavement, without compromising ride comfort. The Nissan Titan has a solid rear axle, with a non-independent rear suspension.

The front and rear suspension of the Hummer EV Pickup uses coil springs for better ride, handling and control than the Titan, which uses leaf springs in the rear. Coil springs compress more progressively and offer more suspension travel for a smoother ride with less bottoming out.

The Hummer EV Pickup offers an available driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads. The Titan’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The Hummer EV Pickup 2X/3X has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Hummer EV Pickup’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The Titan doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Hummer EV Pickup is 5.3 inches wider in the front and 5.3 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the Titan.

The Hummer EV Pickup’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (50% to 50%) than the Titan’s (56% to 44%). This gives the Hummer EV Pickup more stable handling and braking.

The Hummer EV Pickup 3X executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the Titan Crew Cab 4x4 (28.1 seconds @ .65 average G’s vs. 28.5 seconds @ .6 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the Hummer EV Pickup’s turning circle is 10.9 feet tighter than the Titan’s (37.1 feet vs. 48 feet). The Hummer EV Pickup 2’s turning circle is 3.7 feet tighter than the Titan’s (44.3 feet vs. 48 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Hummer EV Pickup 2 has a 1.2 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Titan Crew Cab (10.1 vs. 8.9 inches), allowing the Hummer EV Pickup to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Hummer EV Pickup 2X/3X’s minimum ground clearance is 6.1 inches higher than on the Titan PRO-4X Crew Cab (15.9 vs. 9.8 inches).

Chassis

The Hummer EV Pickup is 11.4 inches shorter than the Titan Crew Cab, making the Hummer EV Pickup easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Cargo Capacity

The GMC Hummer EV Pickup has a standard tailgate assist feature, which folds out and allows for much easier access to the cargo area. A rear cargo step is only available on the Nissan Titan SV/PRO-4X/Platinum Reserve for extra cost.

Ergonomics

The Hummer EV Pickup’s standard easy entry system glides the driver’s seat back, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. An easy entry system costs extra on the Titan, and is not available on all models.

The Hummer EV Pickup’s power parking brake sets with one touch and releases with one touch or automatically. The Titan’s parking brake has to be released manually.

The power windows standard on both the Hummer EV Pickup and the Titan have locks to prevent small children from operating them. When the lock on the Hummer EV Pickup is engaged the driver can still operate all of the windows, for instance to close one opened by a child. The Titan prevents the driver from operating the other windows just as it does the other passengers.

The Hummer EV Pickup’s front and rear power windows all lower with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Titan’s rear power window switches have to be held the entire time to open them fully.

The Hummer EV Pickup’s standard Keyless Open and Start allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, unlock the tailgate, and start the truck, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Pushbutton Start standard on the Titan only offers hands-free access for the ignition, none to unlock the truck.

The Hummer EV Pickup’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Titan’s standard intermittent wipers change speed with vehicle speed, but can’t turn on and off or change speed based on changing rainfall.

The Hummer EV Pickup’s LED headlights produce a whiter, brighter light (up to 3x) using five times less power than the Titan’s standard halogen headlights. LED lights also light instantly and last over twenty times longer than halogen.

The Hummer EV Pickup’s standard outside mirrors include heating elements to clear off the mirrors for better visibility. Nissan charges extra for heated mirrors on the Titan.

The Hummer EV Pickup has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the Titan.

The Hummer EV Pickup has a standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. Dual zone air conditioning costs extra on the Titan.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. The Titan doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.

The Hummer EV Pickup’s Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The Titan doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
