The Charger has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The 500e doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

The Charger offers an optional 360° Surround View Camera to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The 500e only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Dodge’s powertrain warranty covers the Charger 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Fiat covers the 500e. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the 500e ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are almost 7 times as many Dodge dealers as there are Fiat dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Charger’s warranty.

The Charger Daytona R/T Coupe’s standard electric motors produces 378 more horsepower (496 vs. 118) and 242 lbs.-ft. more torque (404 vs. 162) than the 500e’s electric motor. The Charger Daytona Scat Pack Coupe’s standard electric motors produces 552 more horsepower (670 vs. 118) and 465 lbs.-ft. more torque (627 vs. 162) than the 500e’s electric motor.

The Charger can travel longer on a full charge than the 500e on a full charge:

All wheel drive, available in the Charger, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Fiat 500e is not available with all wheel drive.

For better stopping power the Charger’s brake rotors are larger than those on the 500e:

The Dodge Charger has standard four-wheel disc brakes for better stopping power and improved directional control in poor weather. Only rear drums come on the 500e. Drums can heat up and make stops longer, especially with antilock brakes that work much harder than conventional brakes.

For better traction, the Charger has larger standard tires than the 500e (245/55R18 vs. 205/45R17). The Charger Daytona Scat Pack Coupe’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the 500e (F:305/35R20 & R:325/35R20 vs. 205/45R17).

The Charger Daytona Scat Pack Coupe’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the 500e’s 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Charger has standard 18-inch wheels. Only 17-inch wheels are available on the 500e. The Charger offers optional 20-inch wheels.

For superior ride and handling, the Dodge Charger has fully independent front and rear suspensions. An independent suspension allows the wheels to follow the road at the best angle for gripping the pavement, without compromising ride comfort. The Fiat 500e has a rear torsion beam axle, with a semi-independent rear suspension.
